MOODLE MOOC - Integrating Technology 4 Active Lifelong Learning Sponsored by WizIQ. Via Dr. Nellie Deutsch, Let's Learn IT
Dennis T OConnor's insight:
I know that many of my students in the E-Learning and Online Teaching Graduate Certificate want to learn more about Moodle. I introduce Moodle in the first course (E-Learning for Eductors) but can't really do it justice in just a few weeks. I'd recommend anyone interested in learning to teach on line or design online curriculum to get deeply involved with Moodle. You can get your own Moodle set up for little more than the cost of your time. It's a great way to start, and Moodle is a great place to teach. This MOOC looks very promising!

Would you be interested in a list of Free Moodle Video Tutorials? In case that you would like to add a Free Moodle Video Tutorial you can do so!
Dennis T OConnor's insight:
I'll be putting these tutorials to work since I'm finally pulling my stick out of the mud and converting my Moodle work from 1.9 to 2.X. I'll admit I'm in a rut. I know the 'old' Moodle so well and it works so reliably that I just haven't gotten around to upgrading. Now I am! Delete the scoop?

Welcome to your Orientation Course! This short course will introduce you to several key computer skills and study strategies you'll need to do well in your courses. You'll want to set aside about one hour to complete all the material. There will be a short assessment at the end that you'll need to complete before you can begin working in your official class. Don't panic, though! If you work diligently through the material in this course, you'll do fine! Delete the scoop?

No doubt there’s a huge intrinsic value in creating tutorials with a familiar voice highlighting a familiar looking site, but if you’re short on time and long on the demand for showcasing how to do x, y or z in Moodle then the communities stores of videos are definitely a great place to start. Here’s are some of my favorite Moodle video sites and sources representing well over 600 videos (and this number if growing daily): Delete the scoop?

Google Docs-Moodle tutorial Google Docs provides an online office system that includes Documents, Spreadsheets, and Presentations. This can be used as an online content system for publishing content in Moodle by following the steps in this tutorial. When you're building your Moodle course, you may find that using the standard topic/week blocks on the main page is not the most ideal way to present and apply your content and learning activities. The topic blocks can be handy, but they can comprise a "scroll of death" (note one way to avoid this here) and tend to present like a database and 'list' things like downloads and quizzes and assignments without many real options to contextualise them or present them in a 'fuller' learning sequence. When it comes to e-Learning, today's instructors have very unique needs that are always changing. In this webinar, join representatives from Calvin College and Roanoke Chowan Community College to discover how two very different institutions used Moodlerooms’ joule to access key instructional features that help them reach their teaching and learning goals and hear about each campus' future plans for e-Learning. The paper identifies a set of universal instructional design (UID) principles appropriate to distance education (DE) and tailored to the needs of instructional designers and instructors teaching online. These principles are then used to assess the accessibility level of a sample online course and the availability of options in its LMS platform (Moodle) to increase course accessibility. Numerous accessibility-sensitive plug-in modules are found to be available to Moodle users, though relatively few features were included in the sample course analysed. This may be because they have not been made available to instructors at the institutional level. The paper offers a series of recommendations to improve the accessibility of online DE to learners with diverse abilities, disabilities, and needs. Via Maggie Rouman Delete the scoop?

Juliana Payson shows how to integrate Moodle and WordPress for a better online learning experience. The WordPress site is also where students can exchange information on their projects via blog and share videos, while the Moodle site is where Professor Stern holds online course discussions, collects her student’s final submissions, and distributes her reading homework. The Professor has also set up “blog collectives” in which students are required to comment on those of other students in the same collective. By doing so, she hopes, she will encourage her students to read one another’s work and thus benefit from mutual learning. And some of the blogs are “dual purpose”—one part in which the student writes a response that integrates the screenings and the readings of the question, and a second part in which “anything goes”—that is, as long as the student makes one post a week by Sunday at midnight (and he also has to have determined at the beginning what he is going to post about). Moodle hosting, themes and support. We are a non-profit with an aim to make Moodle easy for all. At Key To School (KTS), we believe that Moodle is indeed a gift to all educators. However, it was observed that setting up and maintaining a Moodle server was an uphill task for many educators, and experience becomes worse by the restrictions imposed by many non-managed hosting providers. On the other end of the spectrum, the managed Moodle hosting is too costly for a first time Moodler and individuals on low budget. We strive to bring better moodle hosting solutions for moodlers who want best-in-class moodle-managed hosting services at the most affordable price. Delete the scoop?

This site is one way to create an online reputation trail. I've been a member for about a month. I'm not yet sure I trust Trust Cloud to be around a year from now. However the basic concept is solid.
It's good to learn a bit more about how the scores are determined. (Note, Trustcloud doesn not currently connect with Google+ despite what it says in this article. )
