I have been using Google Docs for a couple of years now and each time I discover a new way to use it in education I would say that this is the last tip I did not know but always proved wrong. There are always more and more to learn and in fact the moment you think you have learned it all is the moment you start to loose it all. This is at least what I have learnt from both " The Ultimate Guide to Google Free Tools for Teachers and Students " and " The Entire Guide to Google Search Features for Teachers and Students ". The GoogleDocs Form is an efficient way for teachers to collect small pieces of information because it automatically displays the information in a spreadsheet. Teachers can add formulas to those spreadsheets to create multiple-choice quizzes that grade themselves. Since a form can be linked or embedded into a website, wiki or blog, students do not need email accounts to take a quiz. The form works well on any portable computing device or full-blown computer which makes it perfect for use as an Exit Ticket at the end of a lesson. One simple 3-5 question Exit Ticket Quiz has at least three great uses. Via Jim Lerman Delete the scoop?

It shows you the information stored in your Google Account and enables you to change your privacy settings for many products from one central location. When you go to your Dashboard you’ll find a single page where you can see the various products you use with your account and what’s stored in them, along with easy access to the product-specific controls. Google Apps is one of the powerful digital toolkit for teachers. It is packed with all kinds of apps you can use both in your teaching and for your professional growth . Think about services such as Gmail, Google Docs, Presentations, Forms, Google Calendar, Google Education, and the list goes on and on. Most of these tools are free and are part and parcel of our digital being. I am personally a huge fan of Google services and I use almost all of them including Google Code.I have been writing a lot of tutorials on each of these tools and I will still keep you updated about any new releases in this regard. Just keep in mind that I am just a teacher like you, I have no affiliation with Google and I am not paid to write about its services here, the only things that drives me to cover Google services in my posts are their practical productivity and relevance, their powerful free features, their awesome user experience, and the level of security they provide its users. They say a house is only as good as its foundation, and we believe the same holds true for web applications like Google Docs.
With our old foundation, we could continue delivering most features you wanted quickly, but over time it became clear that some just weren’t possible. So we decided to rebuild the underlying infrastructure of Docs to give us greater flexibility, improved performance and a better platform for developing new features quickly.
Today, we’re pleased to announce preview versions of the new Google document and spreadsheet editors and a new standalone drawings editor, all built with an even greater focus on speed and collaboration. To get a taste of what’s new today, check out our video: Via Gust MEES, Anne Whaits, Todd Southcombe, Karen LaBonte Delete the scoop?
