  • Challenging, real-life, authentic assessments
  • Rhythms, patterns, and cycles
  • Appropriate chunking or grouping
  • Learning as orchestration rather than lecture or facilitation
  • Appropriate level of novelty
  • Appropriately timed breaks and learning periods
  • Purposeful assessments
  • Learning that addresses visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners

Dennis T OConnor's insight:

Critical thinkiing is an essential 21st Century Skill.  E-Learning courses (expecially those with facilitated discussion) are great opportunities for practicing critical thinkiing.   Without Critical Thinking, a course can become so boring!

I like this poster. Learning psychology is about explaining or outlining a theory, followed by evidence in the form of research, ending with critical evaluative commentary. This will be helpful for students.

A useful infographic that not only summarises the attributes of a critical thinker but more significantly, provides a 25 point list of actions teachers can invite students to do in learning activities, to stimulate and develop critical thinking abilities. A great poster for your office wall!
