I'm not saying tools are a must but if used properly, social media apps can be great enhancers to your social networking endeavors, especially one that involves images and graphics like Pinterest.

Today's post is about Pinterest. I am sharing with you some of the best Pinterest boards for the year 2012 . Like Twitter and Facebook, Pinterest has fast become an essential social media tool for colleges. Scores of schools use the site for marketing, recruiting, or just sharing fun pictures and information with students. Yet Pinterest has begun to play another, perhaps more important role in higher education. Some colleges and universities are starting to use the site as an educational tool, bringing it into the classroom or offering up boards focused on academic resources at the school. Pinterest is a Social Media powerhouse. It takes a bit of work to keep up with PinEtiquette but it is well worth it. We are up to 5 repins and 5-10 Likes or Board follows a day and growing. There is Powere in those Pins!!

This is a neat little trick that my son taught me. I'm sure some of you probably already know about this, but in case you didn't I think you will find it to be super handy, particularly if you are a Pinterest user! More than a few times, I've clicked on a Pinterest Pin, in order to find the instructions to an awesome Craft Tutorial, only to find that the Pin went somewhere other than the original source.
