Educational Technology Guy: LiveMinutes - Edit your Evernote notes in real-time with others! | E-Learning and Online Teaching | Scoop.it

"LiveMinutes is a very cool app that integrates with Evernote (my all time favorite and most used app) and allows you to work on the same Evernote note with others, similar to Google Docs.

Evernote is an excellent app, with the ability to share notes with others, but there is not a collaboration piece until this app came along."

How To Use Google Drive and Evernote To Create Digital Portfolios

How To Use Google Drive and Evernote To Create Digital Portfolios | E-Learning and Online Teaching | Scoop.it

Greg Kulowiec & Beth Holland:

With recent upgrades to the Google Drive app on the iPad, it is now a viable solution for student portfolios that can be created in their entirety on iPad. Everything that is created by a student can be uploaded directly to their Google Drive account and into a “Portfolio” folder that can then be shared with any one of their teachers.

Evernote - for organizing teachers & students | Powerful Learning Practice

Evernote - for organizing teachers & students | Powerful Learning Practice | E-Learning and Online Teaching | Scoop.it

by Jennifer Carey

"If you are not familiar with Evernote, now is the time. Evernote is a free web tool and application that helps you to organize your notes, emails, images, and, well…. everything. It’s hard to describe, but this 50-second video highlights some of the key features and abilities.

'Evernote can be a great application for teachers, both to keep yourself coordinated and to facilitate student learning. I want to highlight a few ways that I have employed Evernote not only to make my life a little easier as a teacher, but to help my students and my classroom stay more focused and organized.

'First, if you need to familiarize yourself with a quick tutorial, try out the “Getting Started Guide For Teachers.” This will help you with the basics of setting up an account, creating notes, and syncing across platforms. Trust me, it’s very easy and you’ll be up and running in just a few minutes. If you are already a more advanced user, then make sure that you set aside some time to browse their blog and YouTube channel for more advanced tips and tricks!"

I've Been Using Evernote All Wrong. Here's Why It's Actually Amazing | Lifehacker

I've Been Using Evernote All Wrong. Here's Why It's Actually Amazing | Lifehacker | E-Learning and Online Teaching | Scoop.it

By Whitson Gordon

"For years, I kept hearing how awesome Evernote was: how it could store everything you possibly needed, make it available everywhere, and how scores of people couldn't live without it. I tried it multiple times, and never saw the appeal until now. Here's what I was missing.

"Any time we talk about Evernote, a good number of you say the same thing: you've tried it time and time again, but you could never really "get into it." I was in the same camp, but after reading the other side's experiences in this article and its comments, I decided to give it another shot. If you're like I was and haven't yet experienced the greatness of Evernote, here are some things you should try.

The More You Add, the More Useful Evernote Becomes

"Let's start with the most important trick: In order to see why everyone likes Evernote, it's important to take advantage of everything it has to offer (rather than use it as just another note taker). Reader ppdd says it best:

"The key to Evernote is to commit to it and jump in with both feet. It's pretty rotten if you're just using it for a few isolated tasks, because absolutely, it doesn't do any one thing perfectly and it's not as fast as other apps.

"It really starts to show its brilliance once you start using it as your default bookmark/webclip app, notetaker, recipe box, repository of all your reference material, and so on. It's great to have ALL the information you need indexed and searchable across every single platform you have. I love opening it up in a meeting and recording the meeting audio right along with my typed notes on my iPad. If I miss something (entirely possible while pecking things out on a glass screen) I can always return to it after the meeting."

The great Evernote experiment is underway in the UK. Adam Webster details how he went all-digital with the help of iPads and Evernote.

    By Adam Webster

"From 8th January – 22nd March I chose one class, my First Year class (aged 11-12) to give up using exercise books, reading books and textbooks. Instead, they would use only digital mediums that were available to them through an iPad that they were supplied with during each lesson.

"We are now at the halfway point of this test, and I wanted to reflect a little on what I have found so far."
