TEMIS: Improving health through objective measurements and personalised monitoring

Our lifestyles are changing. These changes generally have a direct impact on our health.  TEMIS offers effective solutions to measure and assess them thanks to the use of simple technology.  The solutions generate health indicators making it possible to provide a more personal form of medicine to each individual.

Simple, innovative, adaptable and inexpensive tools to quantify and qualify our lifestyles:

A smartphone application to measure physical activity Smart clothe to assess physiological impacts A Kinect application to describe body movements

TEMIS is a 21-month transnational project (2013-2014) in which six partners are involved.

Sandra UNGEMACH-BENSAID's insight:

Nothing to add: with projects like this, personalised medicine is on the go!

Centre e-santé : Membre du nouveau projet européen "Readi for health" | ariege-eco.com | e-Health in Europe | Scoop.it

Vitlab | Virtual Lab for Health and Life

Vitlab | Virtual Lab for Health and Life | e-Health in Europe | Scoop.it

VITLAB is now a public page that is still evolving. Some key information tools are already available. The objectives of VITLAB and the e-Resater knowledge network will be implemented in different phases. The first is already operational.

Sandra UNGEMACH-BENSAID's insight:

Nice collaborative tool: you can find inforamtion about innovation in social and medical care, e-Health, e-inclusion, ... with a focus on patients monitoring and AAL. This tool is developed by a consortium within the European project E-RESATER (Health & Telemedecine Network in Rural Areas), funded by INTERREG IVB SUDOE programme. It gathers partners from France (Pays Couserans - project leader, Departmental Union of Social Centres in Gers), Spain (Foundation INTRAS - Castilla y Leon, Foundation for Social Development - Aragon, Federation of local councils of Asturias) and Portugal (ADRAVE - Development Agency of Vale do Ave). Its objective are:

- to help matching better supply and demand in the field of e-Health products and solutions (with an affordable cost for rural communities!),

- develop and transfer tailor-made solutions adapted to specific contexts in rural areas of the South-West of Europe

- create a network gathering all innovative initiatives in this geographical area, related to e-Health in rural areas

Its originality: bottom-up approach. The project is lead by local professional networks, which ensures that

- their needs are really taken into account by enterprises

- the pilots led at local level are transmitted to relevant health and social authorities at regional and national level.

- innovation / e-health are not anymore weird and abstract concepts

In short: how a nice idea can become a success story!
