Are you a LinkedIn Premium Member?

LL Wrighter does a great job running through the Pro's and Con's of having an upgraded LinkedIn membership, such as free InMail messages, more powerful search features, and more. If you've never explored the benefits, and you're interested in using LinkedIn to generate more leads for your business, I'd encourage you to give it a read.

If you have considered it, what did you decide? Are you a LinkedIn Premium member now? Is it worth it?

Thanks for your input!

14 Amazingly Free Stock Photo Websites

14 Amazingly Free Stock Photo Websites | e-commerce social media | Scoop.it

If you've ever tried searching for free stock photos on the Internet, you probably know what a ridiculous hassle it can be.

As a general rule, free stock photos are extremely difficult to find. A huge portion of the stock photo market is owned by professional companies like Shutterstock and 123RF, who charge $20 or more for a single photo. Even when you can find free stock photos, most are low resolution, watermarked, blurry and, at best, uninspired.

Lucky for you, there are a few ways to access high-quality stock photos without any hassle or significant cost.

Here's a lovingly curated list of the world's best free stock photo websites for designers, business owners and anyone else...

18 Phrases Professionals Use to Get People to Trust Them

18 Phrases Professionals Use to Get People to Trust Them | e-commerce social media | Scoop.it

Let’s begin with a caveat: You can’t fake trust.“Words not backed by action are meaningless,” says Darlene Price, president of Well Said, Inc. and author of “Well Said! Presentations and Conversations That Get Results.”

“You can use the right words and phrases to sound ‘trusting,’ but language is no replacement for being a trustworthy person. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, ‘Who you are speaks so loudly I cannot hear what you’re saying.’"

Price says the word “trust” comes the Old Norse word treysta, meaning “to rely on or have confidence in.”

“The basis for a healthy, productive relationship is trust,” she explains. “As a professional, it’s critical to earn the trust of those with whom you work.”...

“When people trust you, they’re much more likely to believe in you, bond with you, and buy from you.”

Here are 18 phrases professionals use to get others to trust them....

“Why ‘Influencers’ On Social Media Offer You Precisely Zilch” | SocialBro

“Why ‘Influencers’ On Social Media Offer You Precisely Zilch” | SocialBro | e-commerce social media | Scoop.it

"I mean, influencers are a nice idea. But actually, they’re not needed. They’re no better than a couple of normal people endorsing your brand and will have no long-term impact. They’re overrated and make no difference to your business as people trust them no more than anyone else on the internet…”

Imagine if someone said this to you, straight-faced. We’ve seen it happen and it’s stuck with us. Not only do we respectfully disagree, but we’d like to take this chance to refute the above notion and actually point out the benefits of getting ‘influencers’ on your side.

Increasing customer advocacy is now a top priority for 67% of CMOs, and with 74% of customers relying on social media to guide their purchasing decisions you can begin to see why it’s such a high priority.

The End Of Apps As We Know Them - Inside Intercom

The End Of Apps As We Know Them - Inside Intercom | e-commerce social media | Scoop.it

The experience of our primary mobile screen being a bank of app icons that lead to independent destinations is dying. And that changes everything.

How we experience content via connected devices – laptops, phones, tablets, wearables – is undergoing a dramatic change. The idea of an app as an independent destination is becoming less important, and the idea of an app as a publishing tool, with related notifications that contain content and actions, is becoming more important. This will change what we design, and change our product strategy

.NO MORE SCREENS FULL OF APP ICONS

This is such a paradigm shift it requires plenty of explaining. Whilst it may not transpire exactly as I’m about to describe, there is no doubt what we have today — screens of apps — is going to dramatically change. Bear with me as I run through the context....

Shopping Cart Secrets by Age Revealed

Shopping Cart Secrets by Age Revealed | e-commerce social media | Scoop.it
It can be short-sighted to label all shoppers who leave items in a shopping cart as “abandoners.” The shopping cart has become an essential shopping tool for today’s multi-device, multi-channel, on-the-go consumer. Whether it’s carting items to shop later on a different device or viewing an online shopping cart while in a store, many shoppers are mixing clicks and taps as they maneuver their way through the shopping process and may intentionally leave items in their carts to view later.

Kia Allen's curator insight, October 28, 1:04 PM

Very interesting yet enlightening article! I find that a lot of companies steer away from mentioning competitors in advertisement because of various legal offenses they might face. Although very true, that still doesn't mean that you can't use your competitors business operations to determine where you should try to position yourself. All in all, monitoring the tactics of your competitors can tell you what you need to do to improve as a competing company, how they have adjusted t certain obstacles, and ways to gain customers depending on your response to them. These factors ultimately have the potential to increase your ROI by either adopting or staying away from tactics used by competitors. You can raise your ROI without 'throwing another company under the bus" and disclosing their company files. While remaining ethical and fair, a company can use their competitors as an example and help them determine new innovative ways to stay ahead.
