We're always finding different ways to use Scoop.it, mostly coming from the intelligent community of curators that has manifested itself over the last few years.

Scoop.it Specialist @Martin (Marty) Smith wrote an explanation of how he's using Scoop.it to gauge interest in potential original content. When his posts on Scoop.it do well, he is able to see what his audience likes, and create content along the same vein.

He also explains some of the SEO benefits seen by other Scoopiteers like @Brian Yanish - MarketingHits.com.

Thanks for the share @Ally Greer. Don't like the RISK FACTORS without @Scoop.it since each post puts modeled and valuable websites at risk. Better to test with the "fastest feedback loop in the west" :). Marty

How Klout Is Poised To Clean LinkedIn’s Content Clock - Business 2 Community

How Klout Is Poised To Clean LinkedIn’s Content Clock - Business 2 Community | e-commerce & social media | Scoop.it

Late last week Klout announced its intent to empower its users with the ability to view and share curated content that is custom-tailored according to the social graph of the user and the user’s audience. This is a throwback to early last year when LinkedIn actually did something similar — when its content was still useful. However, since curation is based on an individual user’s social graph and what actually resonates with their audience, this looks to be potentially better.

Klout describes it this way:

“The ‘Create’ tab helps you find great articles and posts worth sharing with your audience. Unlike most apps that suggest content for your personal consumption, Klout intelligently recommends content that will strike a chord with your unique set of friends, fans and followers. Helpful tags highlight fresh content that is starting to trend as well as items that closely match the interests of your audience members and are likely to resonate with them.”

Klout launchers a content marketing and curation offensive against LinkedIn. It looks like a winner and is definitely worth checking out.

Interesting news.  I've gotten the impression that LI is getting a big case of the 'stuck-ups' with the way they've been treating their customers lately.  I do know that Klout is an easy to use site....even if I never was certain that it had any real benefit.

Learn how to make the most of your content curation activities by understanding how to leverage SEO.

I realized after reading this post that the reason to retitle curated content is to avoid creating duplicate content with the original.  This always seemed like cheating to me.

Quote: "Make sure the content you’ve written is longer than the excerpt you’ve taken from the original article. With curation, it’s best practice to give more than you take."

7 Qualities of Highly Effective Content Curators

7 Qualities of Highly Effective Content Curators | e-commerce & social media | Scoop.it
Every time I visit the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City, I see something I’ve never seen before. In fact, t’s considered the most influential museum of modern art in the world. With that in mind, meet Klaus Biesenbach. Klaus holds the title “Chief Curator at Large” at MoMA. If you’ve visited the MoMA and walked away impressed (like I have), Klaus has a lot to do with that.

As content curators, we should all aspire to be like Klaus. After all, wouldn’t it be great if our content collections drew as much interest, respect and admiration as the collections at MoMA? In order to achieve this feat, we need to become highly effective content curators. In other words, we need to curate Internet content as we would fine art.

Let’s consider seven habits of content creation that would make Klaus Biesenbach proud. Continue reading →

A very nice list of tips from Dennis Shiao.

I would have liked to see some examples, though. As a curator, I know what I'm supposed. But for beginners, it's quite another story...

Good tips!

Something I need to work on is the "handwritten reviews", I multitask too much sometimes.
