After reading the Semiotics of Advertising reflect & discuss in groups. Complete these two questions and we will debrief as a class.

 

1. During television ads what ways do you think advertisers try to gain interest from their target audience and how could a combination of these elements could influence decision making?


2. keeping in mind Saussure's theory of signification giving examples of signified and signifier how would you advertise our school to potential students. Propose key elements you feel would make a student and their parents decide to enroll in our school.
