I think that competition is moving LinkedIn.com to move ahead of the would be outfits that may prove danger to them,In total innovation is good thing and LinkedIn has changed his face nicely in last few weeks by adding new features. They have removed many old ones and has replaced with new outlook. It is good.

5StarControl has applauds Ryan Ruud for making the case for a local social marketing identity. Reputation management site 5StarControl wrote that local businesses are going to blossom with social media marketing – the new local business marketing approach.


Consumer psychology, according to Ruud’s article, predisposes customers to shop locally when brand recognition is identified with locally-owned business markets. By connecting consumer brand loyalty to local business markets, small businesses are taking advantage of an invaluable local, social resource. To support this, he cites MainStay Salire’s study, “Social Media ROI: Quantifying the Benefits of Social Media,” which reports that the use of locally defined social media content in marketing can create ten times the consumer exposure over the use of corporate media strategies.

In identifying a lack of perspective on the layout choices of Google and Bing, we developed a methodology to extract the opinions of searchers about search layouts for queries that include social and universal results.

 

From The Article: "With the continued evolution of the SERPs and ever more content -- both in quantity and variety -- making its way into the search results, it is important to occasionally step back and gauge how searchers feel about the changes. Thus far, it seems searchers do not want or benefit from the inclusion of social in the SERPs.

 

If forced to choose a social-SERP layout style, they would choose Bing social results, which are set off to the side rather than directly mixed in with the search results.

When it comes to universal, searchers prefer Google’s layout over Bing’s".
