I'm not in it for the money, but it is still something I have to consider. Many people believe teachers don't make that much money. That's not the reason why I want to pursue 2 majors. I want to do it to pursue both of my passions.

"About half of bachelor’s degree candidates in science, technology, engineering and math leave the field before completing a college degree, according to a report from the U.S. Education Department’s National Center for Education Statistics. That might seem high, but it roughly tracks the rate at which students in other majors -- like humanities, education and health sciences -- switched majors or dropped out of college, too, the study found."

This article said more about majors in a STEM feild and it was interesting to note that many students switch their majors. I don't want to be one of those students so I am doing research now to make sure education and environmental science is something I want to go into.

This article was interesting to me beause I want to major in a STEM related feild. It's interesting to note that 69% of people dropped the major. I have experience in STEM related work so I am not worried about switching my goals at the time.

The Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce is an independent, nonprofit research and policy institute that studies the link between education, career qualifications and workforce demands. In the past, a college degree all but assured job seekers employment and high earnings, but today, what you make depends on what you take. In Hard Times 2013, we show differences in unemployment and earnings based on major for BA and graduate degree holders. This year, in addition to the English version, we are proud to announce the release of our first report translated into Spanish. Tiempos Difíciles 2013: Carreras Universitarias, Desempleo e Ingresos is also available on the Georgetown U website.
