La Fin du Mobilier's project is to design and sell simple wood furniture specially fitted for small spaces and modern life. Furniture designed by La Fin du Mobilier are available on the site : http://www.lafindumobilier.com
On top of its own design activities, La Fin du Mobilier wants to share other ideas and designs of interest.
In a nutshell, La Fin du Mobilier likes any kind of furniture which provides a new way to actually look at furniture. Whether it is revolutionary by the functions it serves or by the way furnitures are assembled together.
Topics are arranged by tags like : - CHAIR FOR COMFORT : a new notion of chair that favours comfort with new dimensions, sometimes looking like a bed -- "DRAW ME A LINE" is about furniture that aren't plain --" WOOD AND SIMPLCITY" : self explanatory ...functionalism at its best -- "THE LUGGAGE INSPIRATION" : celebrating nomadism, furniture cleverfully refer to the world of travel and luggage and I like that ! -- "CONCRETE C'EST CHIC !" with a number of concrete furniture -- "UNEXPECTED FURNITURE", which groups furniture with no name but a function, or unexpected component like a belt around a sofa -- "FURNITURE ON YOUR SIDE" that presents small furniture providing that extra help we need right at our hand -- "NEWS ASSEMBLY RULES" to show that can you actually build furniture with pieces of ropes also -- "STORAGE IS DIFFERENT" to prove that you have other options that the massive ikea storage system to keep your belonging stored -- books and bookshelves is an interesting topic : while La Fin du Mobilier point of view is to throw/give away alreay read books, it will be interested by any kind of furniture that serve this idea, either by proposing much smaller bookshelves or books that serve as different purpose for instance being an artwork or serving as the structure of the furniture -- "SOFAS TAKE THE EASY SIDE", there is nothing more cumbersome and useless than a sofa and nevertheless more wide-spread in today's interiors. So when designers.editors actually try to find a new way to look at it, it can not remain unnoticed ... -- "LEANING IN STYLE" : p. 4 presents furniture that prefer lying on the wall rather than on four feet !

Very controversial indeed. What most matters to me in a book is less the cover than its contents... ;-)

that makes sense to me too :)
one question though : once read, do you really want to keep your pocket books for future reading ? or do you merely want to keep them because they are "part of you"? Keeping hard cover books, like art books, makes sense to me as I enjoy reading them again and again ...

I guess it's both: part of me and refer back to them... I never read them all over again though. By the way I don't like had covers: they are not practical to read on the go. Yet few nice books like art or photography as you mention are nice as well to decorate.
