******Good morning Marchers! We want everyone to have a safe and productive day today! This is hard work marching for so many days. Here are a few reminders before you leave home for the march this morning:

Wear comfortable shoes and medium weight clothing (with white shirt for Andy!). Temperatures will be in the low 60's today.

Bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated, we will march for about 3 miles.

Plan for a way to get home. Bring bus fare or ask someone to pick you up at the end. We will have a closing ceremony at about 4PM.

Make sure that you eat before you march and maybe bring a small snack.

Make sure that your friends and family know that you are at the march and have their emergency number with you, maybe write it on your arm with a sharpie.

Have your cellphone charged if you have one so that you can call home and also to record any interactions with the police.

Finally, please stay together with the group as we march. There is safety in numbers.

In the unlikely event that there is any trouble, calmly make your way away from the source of trouble.

If ANYONE is causing any trouble that includes violence or destruction of property, DO NOT participate. Cops are known to, and are allowed by law to incite violence in order to disperse marches, arrest organizers, and stop social movements from achieving their objectives.

DO NOT ALLOW VIOLENCE TO DISCREDIT THE WORK WE ARE DOING TO SEE THAT WE GET JUSTICE FOR ANDY!

A new book to help us grapple with media addiction and attention. The downloads page has some useful templates for logging media usage. I use something similar in my own courses. Definitely a good way to develop media mindfulness.
