Self driving cars are a big factor of future technology. As the hardware and software gets better so does the possibility of owning a self driving car. Although this may have some negative response from the transport business. With self driving vehicles drivers would not be required and thus would lose their jobs. 

However the safety aspect and ease of access is what really sells this idea.
