On January 20th DANS organizes with his visiting fellows Andrew Treloar (ANDS) and Herbert van de Sompel (LANL) the workshop ‘Riding the Wave and The Scholarly Archive of the Future’. Interested in data management and -archiving are welcome to sign up.
The starting point of the workshop is the report 'Riding the Wave'. This report provides a picture of the future for an electronic infrastructure that allows sustainable access and (re-)use of scientific data. The workshop looks at which part of this vision has already been completed, what challenges may come into play for the scientific community and what the implications of this vision are for the role of scientific archives.
