Staycations are big when comparing the cost of out of country holiday vs in country. The pound has been relatively soft in the last decade and generally poor consumer sentiment due to toughening economic circumstances.

 

In Australia we've had the high dollar rate where it's become cheaper to holiday overseas, this may change when the US economy gets back on its feet post GFC.

An elderly Christchurch couple are devastated they spent thousands of dollars on a "brand new" caravan only to discover it was faulty and possibly made more than four years before the purchase.

I find the problem with this article is that the couple persisted in their court case even though their contract stated the date of manufacture clearly. 

 

I empathise with them and feel sympathy due to trying situation they felt they were in. I do however feel that companies need to be human when dealing with their customers. If we let relationships get to the 'contract' phase it means that all channels of discourse have failed. 

 

It's win win when both parties can be heard, in my many years of working in business the key failure all round internally and externally is that if there is a failure in communication there is a failure in the business!
