In countries where use of medical marijuana is legal, a large number of people especially with epilepsy reported controlled seizure activity using medical marijuana. The people who are working hard to bring up marijuana as a useful treatment for epilepsy have also found its use for many other diseases as well. In fact multiple states now have made laws allowing the prescribed use of marijuana for the treatment of epilepsy.

Seizures in neonates or newborn babies (below 2 months old) are more common than seizures that happen in infants or at older people. Neonatal Onset Epilepsy is believed to be the major cause of seizures in neonates.

Ketogenic diet was first administered in the 1920s for seizure patients who were not responsive to anticonvulsant medications.

Ketogenic diet is a way to control seizures without the administration of any drugs.

 

Studies show that 40-70% of patients who followed the ketogenic diet reported that their seizure frequency decreased by 50%, and 10-33% of these patients no longer had seizures.
