These BAAM printers are up to 200-500 times faster than regular 3d printers. One of these printers is located in Cincinnati. Used for thermostatic components

Production speed and size of components capable of being produced are two of the primary factors holding 3-D printing back from moving beyond a technology used for prototyping and short-run production applications to one that's also used in mass manufacturing and a wider array of specialty production applications.

Additive manufacturing is changing how manufacturing work. You no longer need to make a prototype. You are able to just make a design and print the model. No exact size but a scaled size tht gives you an idea of what the product could look like.

5 axis machining and wire edm are new technolgy sources fro medical parts. These machines are able to make these parts because of the ability they can manuver.

3d printing is a process that let you create a physical object and lets you print it on a 3d file. This would help machining by being able to see the actual design of a product then making it using the material need to make it. also this would help with inspection of a product

Created in 1984 but wasn't fully in use until 2010. 3d printing is on its "tipping point" it has rapidly changed withing the past few years and is growing everyday.

These are 5 axis mills. They are used for dental work. These machines are able to mill on the x,y, and z axis. They can be slanted up to 20 degrees. "5-axis simultaneous machining capability and a 5-station automatic tool switcher with a tool measurement device" These machines have a spindle speed of 36,000rpm. 5 axis milling is able to make teeth because of the angles it is able to machine.

These machines are able to rotate the product 360 degrees. They include a 5 peice tool changer

cnc machines dont waste a lot of material. They have the ability to not start with a large ammount and still be able to make the same product. Saving money and material. Plus the scrap you have is able to be pulled out and scraped for money so you dont loose

cnc machining makes it easier for a person to use. you have a control pannel and you program it to run your part for you. It doesnt take much to run a machine. lifted some of the material would be the hardest part if you are dealing with heavy metals.

cnc maching is able to machine all different types of material. You can pretty much cut any material and it will turn out perfect whether it be wood up to stainless steel you are able to cut.
