Honor Killings Grow in the West: Islam’s Gruesome Gallery

Honor Killings Grow in the West: Islam’s Gruesome Gallery | Domestic Politics, Foreign Policy & Culture | Scoop.it

As Islamic honor killings continue to rise in the West and on U.S. territory, our media and higher literary culture remain completely silent about them.

While our own president gets personally involved in the Trayvon Martin case, joining the race hustlers that have set out to convict George Zimmerman based on narrative, not evidence, the world is waiting for him to breathe one word on behalf of Islamic honor killings victims.

In this context, the editors of Frontpage believe it is an important time to rerun Honor Killings Grow in the West: Islam’s Gruesome Gallery compiled by modern day freedom fighter Pamela Geller, the editor of Atlas Shrugs.

Below we provide a link to the gallery.

Hard Line on Iran Places White House in a Bind

Hard Line on Iran Places White House in a Bind | Domestic Politics, Foreign Policy & Culture | Scoop.it
The administration wants to convince Iran that it is serious about military action without making war seem unavoidable.

WASHINGTON — As American and European diplomats prepare for crucial negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program, the White House finds itself caught in a bind: for the diplomatic effort to work, American officials say, the Iranian government must believe that President Obama is ready and willing to take military action.

Yet tough talk, necessary as it might be for successful diplomacy, contributes to a sense that war may be unavoidable.

The ObamaCare Argument DOA – The Third and Final Day

The ObamaCare Argument DOA – The Third and Final Day | Domestic Politics, Foreign Policy & Culture | Scoop.it

Obama's Solicitor General never imagined that other's would find flaws in his arguments. Everyone has. Because it's not the Administration's arguments that are flawed, but the law itself. The LAW - is unconstitutional on many levels.

The surest sign your lawyer hasn't done a good job is when you issue a statement defending his performance.

The conservative justices were obviously concerned that if they left parts of the law in place, the votes would not be present in Congress to fix it. From the “Louisiana Purchase” to the “Cornhusker Kickback,”so many “venal” deals (as Justice Scalia described at least one of them) were struck to get the votes needed for final passage, “legislative inertia” would prevent remedying any problems with the law.

No Fooling: U.S. Now Has Highest Corporate Tax Rate in the World

No Fooling: U.S. Now Has Highest Corporate Tax Rate in the World | Domestic Politics, Foreign Policy & Culture | Scoop.it

This April Fool’s Day, the joke is on all of us. That’s because as of April 1, the U.S. now has the highest corporate tax rate in the developed world.

Our high corporate tax rate has long made the U.S. an uncompetitive place for new investment. This has driven new jobs to other, more competitive nations and meant fewer jobs and lower wages for all Americans.

Other developed nations have been cutting their rates for over 20 years. The U.S. did nothing.

his gaping disparity means every other country that we compete with for new investment is better situated to land that new investment and the jobs that come with it, because the after-tax return from that investment promises to be higher in those lower-taxed nations. Our high rate also makes our businesses prime targets for takeovers by businesses headquartered in foreign countries, because their worldwide profits are no longer subject to the highest-in-the-world U.S. corporate tax rate. Until Congress cuts the rate, more and more iconic U.S. businesses such as Anheuser-Busch (which was bought by its Belgian competitor InBev in 2008) will be bought by their foreign competitors.

Trayvon Martin — And Sharpton’s Latest Racist Lying Game

Trayvon Martin — And Sharpton’s Latest Racist Lying Game | Domestic Politics, Foreign Policy & Culture | Scoop.it

Al Sharpton remains one of the driving forces behind the effort to turn the Trayvon Martin case into an indictment of America itself. To earn his daily bread, Sharpton is well aware that he must continuously convince black Americans that they live in a hopelessly racist nation, not because it’s true, but because any genuine progress made by blacks themselves is inimical to his own interests.

Keith Olbermann fired, again. Replaced by Eliot Spitzer at Current TV

Keith Olbermann fired, again. Replaced by Eliot Spitzer at Current TV | Domestic Politics, Foreign Policy & Culture | Scoop.it
Controversial TV anchor Keith Olbermann has been replaced at Current TV by an equally controversial player — Eliot Spitzer. Current TV founders Al Gore and Joel Hyatt made the announcement in an open letter to viewers posted at the network’s website.

DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU ON YOUR BUTT ON YOUR WAY OUT!

Olbermann fired the second time in a year threatened to sue. Anyone thinking of hiring Olbermann will think twice about a man who sues for being fired for cause.

A co-worker said "Olbermann was a moron at MSNBC, and his recent antics prove he's still a jerk."

Or as they say, you can't take the chimp out of the monkey.

The Worst Person of the Year? No, just the dumbest.

Bolton Charges Obama Purposely Undermining Israel

Bolton Charges Obama Purposely Undermining Israel | Domestic Politics, Foreign Policy & Culture | Scoop.it
Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton blasted the Obama administration Wednesday afternoon for putting just merciless behind-the-scenes pressure on the Israeli government in order to persuade Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu not to launch an attack...

The Obama administration has torqued it up a notch, and now they’re going to reveal very sensitive, very important information that will allow Iran to defeat an Israeli attack,” said the former UN ambassador. “I think that’s what’s going on.

Obama 'Doubles Down' on Failed Energy Policy

Obama 'Doubles Down' on Failed Energy Policy | Domestic Politics, Foreign Policy & Culture | Scoop.it

With the Obama administration dead set on turning the Keystone XL pipeline into a pipe dream, two energy companies have decided it's time for a little less talk and a lot more action. Enterprise Products Partners LP of Houston and Enbridge Inc. of Calgary are each moving forward with new pipeline projects that will deliver up to 850,000 barrels of crude oil daily from Canada to Gulf Coast refineries by mid-2014. Unlike the Keystone pipeline, these projects won't have to scale a State Department blockade as the portions of the respective pipelines that cross international borders are already built. Of course, other federal agencies, including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, will have to give their permission, but with Obama's push for energy independence relegated to nothing more than lip service, one can only applaud the enterprising energy companies for taking action.

Obamacare on Trial - Patriot Post

Nine Justices will decide the fate of ObamaCare

Fundamental to our system of governance is the concept of federalism -- the division of power between the federal government and the states. Cemented in the Constitution, this concept provides the federal government with only certain, specific ("enumerated") powers, while the states hold all other powers of governance over the individual. This division, along with separation of the federal powers into executive, legislative and judicial branches of government, is the bedrock that secures individual liberty in the U.S.

Although federalism has eroded significantly in the last century, it faces its most serious threat via the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, better known as ObamaCare. This week the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) heard six hours of oral arguments over three days -- the longest amount of time allotted in almost half a century -- and a record-setting 130 amicus briefs in cases consolidated under the title, Department of Health and Human Services, et al., vs. State of Florida, et al., which challenge the constitutionality of the law.

I think Obamacare was a really bad idea. It's a good article though. I was surprised it had a 6 hour argument on it!
pdowds30's curator insight, April 28, 10:31 AM

This article relates ObamaCare to Federalism. Through ObamaCare , Federalism, the basis of our country's original being, is being completely tampered with. This health care movement completely confuses the branches of governance on a state and federal level. These two governments are forced to dip into each other's  responsibilities and everything will eventually knot itself up.

Logan Felten's comment, May 27, 6:56 AM
This article is about ObamaCare and the strong opinions that come with it. This healthcare movement confuses the branches of government, a lot will happened and people and citizens won't know whats going on and everything will eventually be messed up.
