Sinn Féin refuses to face the 'appalling vista' of prolonged campaign of violence - Independent.ie

Sinn Féin refuses to face the 'appalling vista' of prolonged campaign of violence - Independent.ie | Doing business in Ireland | Scoop.it

The problem for Sinn Féin, particularly its newer members, is that just like the British judicial system regarding the wrongful incarceration of the Birmingham Six, and the Catholic church regarding clerical child abuse, they seem unable to face the "appalling vista" that the edifice of an honourable and principled organisation committed to genuine republican values is deeply compromised by its refusal to acknowledge the injustice of its unnecessarily prolonged campaign of violence and its continuing incapacity to deal with troubling facts about historical child abuse among Republicans.

Its NOT high time for Irish SMEs to start ‘milking the system’its time for Irish businesses to do it for themselves!

Its NOT high time for Irish SMEs to start ‘milking the system’its time for Irish businesses to do it for themselves! | Doing business in Ireland | Scoop.it

It’s high time for Irish SMEs to start ‘milking the system’ WHAT DOSH

Two happenings in the past two weeks have been interesting ones on behalf of the Government says Kehlan Kirwan of the Examiner.

Firstly, the launch of actionplanforjobs.ie where SMEs can go to find local government supports specific to their area. The second has been the Strategic Banking Corporation scheme which aims to give low-interest loans to the SME market.

We talk a lot in this country about people ‘milking the system’, most of which is nonsense but that’s an argument for another day. As small businesses we have a terrible track record of getting involved in government money.

CELTAR Adviser's insight:

The most terrifying words in the English language are: "I'm from the government and I'm here to help” *
Entrepreneurs don't wish to milk the system , they wish to take what is theirs on their own terms.

More schemes, programmes and initiatives from government are not the answer.

Making it easier and cheaper to do business  - this is what all entrepreneurs want.

CELTAR Adviser's insight:

Niamh Bushell talks about her admiration for entrepreneurs, how disadvantaged 'working poor' in NYC were able to better themselves.(personally I had similar experience as a business counsellor in London's East End)

Entrepreneurs are anybody who is willing to take a risk, and 95% of startups fail. Value is in the "journey" if you don't succeed, it will contribute to self-actualistion and your life experience.

Dublin now has 3 startup policy centres

1. the Commissioner for Startups Office

2. Startup Ireland

3. Dublin City Council (local enterprise office)

It was great to see Celtar client Tiago Mascarenhas (above) interviewed in the Irish Times last week.
