In this first part of the article, Arnau Gifreu Castells reflects on the relationship between two key concepts of interactive documentary: the subject and the technique. The dichotomy between these two concepts is very reminiscent of a theme dear to Eisenstein, the relationship between form and content.
We look forward to the second half hoping that this will start again from what it seemed to me one of the key points of the analysis, that is the amount of interaction inversely proportional to strong narrative voice.
