i-Docs & beyond: 5 things to consider

i-Docs & beyond: 5 things to consider | Documentary Evolution | Scoop.it

"At the end of March, i-Docs 2014 took place and although I documented the event through Storify, it’s been a struggle to pull together my key takeaways as Hot Docs, Webdox, i_doc Workshop and TFI Interactive seemed to continue so many of the themes and expand upon them in interesting ways.

So this has now become a much longer, two-part list of take-aways, full of great examples and worthwhile links – enjoy!"

Interrogating audiences: What do we mean by engagement and evaluation? - i-Docs

Interrogating audiences: What do we mean by engagement and evaluation? - i-Docs | Documentary Evolution | Scoop.it

"(...) this is a must see/read/hear presentation for those on both the industry and academic sides of the interactive documentary field." Jess Linington - i-Docs

"Engagement is becoming a ubiquitous term – but its rarely defined or interrogated and there’s little consensus about what it means. So what does this mean for idocs? Firstly it highlights the importance of being able to demonstrate not only that there is an audience, but that the audience is engaged. In doing this it matters a lot that we can articulate and defend a measure of idoc engagement that takes into account what is unique about the idoc audience." Kate Nash

mirmilla's insight:

A very interesting presentation that highlights key issues still little explored in a systematic way. Thanks to i-Docs.

mirmilla's insight:

Finally, after two years, i-Docs conference is back, one of the world most (if not the most) important event dedicated to the interactive documentary.

Divided into 4 sections, the program offers a myriad of interesting sections, from collaborative models to the new journalism, from case studies to UX Thinking applied to the field of i-docs.

Check it out!

[If I can get organized, the chances of going are high. Hope!]
