When Apple started developing its smartwatch, executives envisioned a state-of-the-art health-monitoring device that could measure numerous health levels, but none of those technologies made it into the much-anticipated Apple Watch, due in April. Daisuke Wakabayashi joins MoneyBeat.

Short, interesting video. The features that didn't make it in to the Apple Watch are those that aren't scientifically reliable. Tests revealed that the data generated was impacted by  having hairy arms ;-) or wearing the watch too tightly...Wonder if all manufacturers have looked as closely at their watches.

Google chose to let the service die just as people were starting to get used to the idea of visiting their care providers online.

Google helpouts was also used in healthcare (video calls for "help" whether free or paid by the minute). The entire service is being pulled. We don't know the stats.

It does seem that health interests Google.

But ket's not assume that anything Google does is more than a test. If it sticks to the wall, we'll continue to see it. If it doesn't, on to the next.
