UNWTO-DMO Department is globally active to create LOCAL-DMOs, which are expected to activate the local markets within the contemporary commercial requirements. Since there is a huge need for the CONCEPT to be utilized, all of the world's country and local leaders are invited to "understand-realize-apply" this new-device, in order to achieve effectiveness & productivity in micro and MACRO levels...

Recent "innovative theories' declare the importance of Tourism Destinations as: "The main Product to be Managed is the Destination itself" and there is no Authority to execute this within existing markets. THUS: The Practical Solution is "to establish regional NGOs" that will fill the necessary functional  gaps of Planning and Organizing the required Services of the Destinations. ALERT: Since Promoting & Marketing is only a minor part of Management concept, where without such a wholistic approach, destinations are obliged to loose efficiency and effectiveness.

Today; Every "Place-City-Nation is keen on Tourism Development" but Macro Organization of this changing environment is almost possible with existing structures. Innovative DMO Model facilitates this 'hard work' BUT the traditional structures cannot possibly agree with this procedure. HENCE the original call of UNWTO for Governments to apply DMO was unsuccesful on Global scale! SEE the new Article:

2000 sonrası kaydedilen hızlı gelişmelerle, mevcut elbisesi dar gelen Türk Turizmine çağdaş bir Örgütlenme kostümü olarak TURİZM KONSEYLERİ MODELİ getirildi. 2007 Başlarında Turizm Stratejisi ile Devlet Politikası olarak öngörülen bu çağdaş model, son 8 Yıldır Bakanlıkça Yönetmelik çıkarılmasını beklemektedir. Dilemmatic character of Travel & Tourism Industry can be Globally solved by NEW*Tourism*APP within a simple formula: { MACRO*Strategy + Regional*COUNCILS = BEST*Practices } Model in parallel with UNWTO's DMO Initiative. But this does not work with Governmants and should ve overcome by full NGO approaches at Destinational levels where the Local Tourism Initiatives can be successfully Managed under full Stakeholers' Collaboration!

It is the main bottleneck for regional tourism mechanisms that "there is no boss in local tourism" to organize the ongoing process for the sake of resident benefits. Thus: Tourism is ready to be played as an open market pirot game with endless disorders and disappointments!
