Moog Filter | DIY Music & electronics | Scoop.it

This is a passive capacitors bank used for low pass and high pass sound sculpting on an old modular moog module. You can replace the 10k resistors with a 25-100k pot for a more dramatic filtering, and add true bypass switches.

I tried this with a guitar, hot-plugging various caps on a pot soldered with a transistor slot for easy swapping.  I think there is more tonal difference between different caps (ceramic and mylar for example) of the same value than between same type caps of the next closer value.

Idea ! Add a small transformer in the path to add inductance, for band pass/reject filters
