Help finalize the next version of The Conversation Prism

Help finalize the next version of The Conversation Prism | Distance Ed Archive | Scoop.it

Brian Solis writes "Hello everyone! It's that time again when I could use a little help from my friends. After 2 years and two months, The Conversation Prism 4.0 is nearing its completion. To get it over the finish line, I'd love your input. Please take a look at the embedded doc and let me know if there are social tools/services/categories that are missing or if you would remove any as well.

ghbrett's insight:

The Conversation Prism has be a go-to resource for Social Media Resource and their use and value for years now. It is impressive that Brian is now crowd sourcing and relying on the users / readers of the diagram to improve it. This is an opportunity for the education, research, training, and open-access community to include their favorite applications that share content and support group work.

The Content Grid v2 [Infographic] | Eloqua Blog

The Content Grid v2 [Infographic] | Eloqua Blog | Distance Ed Archive | Scoop.it

"The Content Grid v2 picks up where its predecessor left off. Intact is the prescriptive connection between content type and distribution channel. New is the perspective of the buyer, a multi-stage purchase funnel, and a comprehensive collection of KPIs (like they say, “What isn’t measured, isn’t purchased.”). Although v2 contains significantly more information than the original, the new design is infinitely more simple. This achievement is a tribute to the unrivaled design team at JESS3 – and the clarity of client/agency communication that comes only with time and trust." -- from the Source.

NOTE: While this infographic is focused on marketing, it can also be applied to the timeline of developing courseware as well.

Top 10 Learning Tools – 2012

Top 10 Learning Tools – 2012 | Distance Ed Archive | Scoop.it

"Are you familiar with the Centre for Learning and Performance Technologies (C4LPT) annual “Top 100 Tools for Learning” project? Led by Jane Hart, this is a collaborative effort in which learning professionals all over the world submit their top 10 tools for the year. This year more than 500 submissions were included.

I’ve contributed to the project over the last several years, but having missed the deadline for the latest list, I thought I’d go ahead and post my thoughts here. As a blogger, freelance instructional designer, and adjunct online instructor, these are the 10 tools that have been the most helpful to me over the past year (in no particular order)" -- from source: http://mvenable.wordpress.com/

NOTE: While the top ten tools are applications and services that many of us use already, Dr. Venable, an Instructional Designer among other talents, presents brief rationale for each of her top ten picks. She also points to the C4LPT list of "Top 100 Tools for Learning." This is worth a look. While you're on her site, have a look at her "About" page for more information of her work and interests.
