Bloom’s Taxonomy: The 21st Century Version ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

Bloom’s Taxonomy: The 21st Century Version ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Distance Ed Archive | Scoop.it

"So much have been written about Bloom’s taxonomy; one click in a search engine will flood your page with hundreds of articles all of which revolve around this taxonomy. Only few are those who have tried to customize it to fit in the 21st century educational paradigm. As a fan of Bloom’s pedagogy and being a classroom practitioner, I always look for new ways to improve my learning and teaching, and honestly speaking , if you are a teacher/ educator and still do not understand Bloom’s taxonomy then you are missing out on a great educational resource.

The following article is a summary and a fruit of my long painstaking research in the field of Bloom’s taxonomy. The purpose is to help teachers grow professionally and provide them with a solid informational background on how to better understand and apply Bloom’s taxonomy in classrooms (or for Distance Learning - reviewer comment) in the light of the new technological advances and innovations." from Source: http://www.educatorstechnology.com/

ghbrett's insight:

This blog post is loaded with infographics, charts, links, and other good information to help educators and trainers who are using or interested in Bloom's Taxonomy. This is a very useful resource. Note that the writer has written this as a classroom teacher. However, this reviewer believes that the information applies to Distance Learning as well.

eLearning Guild Research: Reconsidering Bloom's Taxonomy (Old AND New) by Patti Shank : Learning Solutions Magazine | Distance Ed Archive | Scoop.it

"The eLearning Guild’s new research report, Bloom’s Taxonomy: What’s Old Is New Again discusses the history and revisions of Bloom’s Taxonomy, and examines its use in all facets of education and instruction and why it has endured despite numerous criticisms. It also includes numerous job aids, such as Figure 1, to help practitioners better use Bloom’s in their own settings." from Source: http://www.learningsolutionsmag.com

ghbrett's insight:

This is a worth while review that is packed with useful graphics. I'd recommend that anyone using or interested in Bloom's Taxonomy have a look at it. Please note that the new research report itself linked in this article is only available to registered members of the Learning Guild.
