A common disorder of the excetory system are kidney stones.Those whose diets contain a high level of CALCIUM are most likely patients of kidney stones. These kidney stones can range between sizes and if not treated, they can cause permenant kidney damage.Those who do not drink enough fluid and have a high sodium diet are mostly likely going to have kidney It is recommended that people should drink at least 2 liters of water per day, a way to prevent kidney stones.
Ways to Treat Kidney Stones:
-The patient could try to urinate the stones physically with the aid of medication to ease the pain.
-Another option is a procedure called, "Shock-Wave Lithtripsy" which is breaking the stone by using sound and shock waves, breaking it small enough so they can fit through the utreter and can urinate via the urethra.
-Patients can also choose to do Ureteroscopy which is when the doctor inserts a camera into the patient's kidney and manually grab and break the kidney stones.
-Advanced patients containing larger kidney stones or many stones can also use a method called, "Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy" which is using a small, special telescope which then breaks down the kidney stones by a high speed vibration laser.
Depending on the patient's intensity of the kidney stones, methods and procedures are recommended accordingly. The best way to treat kidney stones, is to try to avoid having them in the first place. Eating a well balanced and healthy diet consisting of not too much calcium is best.
