America had one million jew living in america, which happened to be the third largest jewish population at the center of the world. When the jewish immigrated from eurpoe most of the population moved to new york. About half of the countrys jews lived in new york. Immigration was one of the main reasom for the america jewish population blow up.

At first america didnt do anything to help the jews in europe from the nazi. Then FDR felt he should do something when he was under pressue from the officals in the goverment and the jewish commumity to take action to help the jewish people. so he made WRB war refuge board to rescue the people that didnt have a chance to get out. Roosevet made a fort in ontario, New york and made it a free port for refuges. This helped to get a better life and have a chance to live and rise there childern.
