Direct marketing allows a company to potentially build a close relationship with its customers. This relationship can be positive and bring success to a company; however it can also do the opposite. The difference is how the company is perceived by the customer who is being communicated with. The upside of Direct Marketing is that it allows focus to be put on a company, however when the consumer does not have a high opinion of that company in the first place, those feelings tend to increase exponentially. Direct marketing, therefore, can both greatly increase consumer engagement, and harm it also. The article is basically a list of helpful resources for direct marketers, which if followed will help them avoid the potential harms of Direct Marketing

Interesting article here Jina, it really explains direct marketing to me increasing my knowledge of it. Direct marketing can positively and both negatively affect a company. It can positively affect direct marketing due to engangement to individual consumers to establish relationships towrds the compnay however affects the company negatively if used unwisely and annoys the consumer off the brand.

The question here is the same as asked in the above articles, so the answers are likely to be quite similar. One thing that did really interest me in this article was the example given about the EasyJet website in Europe. They had a Direct Marketing campaign specifically tailored for customers that booked flights in Feb 2012, but did not rebook in 2013. The campaign was set up, specific to each customer, advertising flights for less than they had paid the previous year! What a great idea, and implementing Direct Marketing campaigns like this,EasyJet was able to see a profits increase of 28%, and a return on every $1 invested of $4.

this article was very intersting as it displayed the importance of direct marketing and its effect on specific case scenarios. it was interesting to see easyjets success with this approach and the original concpet of targeting customers.

This is a job application? But in answer to your question, Direct Marketing can help businesses achieve brand equity by boosting consumer engagement, and by instilling a high opinion of a brand, as long as the Direct Marketing Campaign is executed in the correct manor.

this article wasnt an article at al really and was a job application? by increasing value to the consumer is how direct marketing can effect the level of the companies brand equity. Better article will be needed to comment further on my thoughts on the article in future as this is not consumer engagement.
