I personally dont think of this as a big, political deal. If a consumer does not want to talk to a telemarketer, they can hang up easily. If a consumer does not want to speak to a door-knock marketer, THEY have the right to tell them to stop and close the door. Surely the marketer is always thinking of the consumer first, and respects their thoughts? At the end of the day, the consumer is always boss, right?

I agree with you that the customer is always boss! Many people believe that customers are always right, but actually they are not. No matter the customer is right or wrong, marketers need to see things from the customer perspective, this is because that it helps marketers to attract sales. Otherwise, customers will not make money.
