Lillypad's insight:

Dill would want a bike because he has to walk everywhere in Maycomb and a bike would make it easier and faster for him to get where he is going. He also could have used a bike when he ran away from home. Instead of stealing money from his parents and taking the train all by himself, it would have been easier if he could have just biked. Another plus of having a bike is that during the summer, Dill, Jem, and Scout would have so much fun playing with and riding the bike all around Maycomb.

Pet adoption: Want a dog or cat? Adopt a pet on Petfinder | Dill | Scoop.it
The place for pet adoption. Petfinder is the number one website for adoptable pets. Search over 350,000 adoptable pets from nearly 14,000 adoption groups.
Lillypad's insight:

Dill would enjoy a pet. Dill would want a pet because he is only in Maycomb for the summer and when he gets home, his parents ignore him and push him to the side. Having a pet would mean that Dill would always have someone to play with and he would have someone who cares about him just as much as he cares about it. A pet (something like a cat or a dog) would always be a friend to Dill, even when no one else is.

Jeanne Birdsall | About the Penderwicks

Jeanne Birdsall | About the Penderwicks | Dill | Scoop.it
Jeanne Birdsall Website
Lillypad's insight:

The book The Penderwicks relates to Dill because both Dill and Jeffery, from The Penderwicks, are young boys who feel unloved by their parents. Jeffery is a nice young boy who has a love for music but his parents just won't listen to him or try to understand his side of the story. They have already planned out his future, whether he likes it or not. He has friends who love him and they help him make a plan after he decides that he is going to run away. This relates to Dill because Dill too feels unloved and misunderstood by his parents. He feels that they never want to be around him. Eventually he runs away and he has his friends to help him out.

Acting | InterFACE

Acting | InterFACE | Dill | Scoop.it
Lillypad's insight:

A hobby that Dill would enjoy is acting. He would be a great actor because, as we've seen in To Kill a Mockingbird, he is a very good liar. He can make up an excuse for anything and act on it so confidently and makes it seem so real and believable that you have no choice but to believe him. He is very good at portraying his emotions and he demands people's  attention. He has been through a lot so he knows how to demonstrate the emotions of many different characters.

Parental Love and Acceptance

Parental Love and Acceptance | Dill | Scoop.it
Lillypad's insight:

This article relates to Dill because it talks about children who are facing rejection or are feeling unloved. Rejection is definitely a felling that Dill would get from his parents because even though they feed him, cloth him, and buy him lots of toys and books, he still feels like they are just doing that so he will not bother them anymore. His parents care about him but they don't like to talk to him or be around him. He feels so confused and lonely so eventually runs away from home.

Lillypad's insight:

Dill certainly could use a planner. His daily activities are random and fun but he has so many ideas about things to do and places that they can go. If he had a planner he, along with Jem and Scout, could work out their plans and maybe with an organized plan, they could finally see Boo Radley. It would also make him feel better when he is home with his parents because he could plan his activities and not worry about being bored and not having anyone to play with.

Lillypad's insight:

The Scream relates to Dill because he is going through some hard times in his life. He feels neglected by his parents and he is scared and confused by things that are happening around him. He doesn't know where he belongs and he doesn't feel like anyone really cares about him. He has so many emotions building up inside of him that sometimes he just wants to SCREAM!

Getting to Know the U.S. Court Systems - For Dummies | Dill | Scoop.it
The United States court system is actually many court systems: a federal system and 50 state systems. Each has its own structures and procedures. All are multi-tiered.
Lillypad's insight:

This article relates to Dill because he doesn't know that much about how the court system works. He gets very upset when the prosecutor starts talking to the defendant, he doesn't understand that its his job to be harsh and find out the truth. This article could really help Dill because  the defense lawyer is the father of his best friends, so he might be attending more trials. After he reads this article he will have a better knowledge of the court system and how it works.

Lillypad's insight:

Narcissus, by Caravaggio is of a man who sees his reflection and falls in love with it. This relates to Dill because Dill sees himself but instead of loving himself, he feels upset with himself. He sees a unwanted child. He doesn't feel happy at home with his parents so he runs away, in hopes of being happier and finally accepting himself for who he is.

Lillypad's insight:

Dill would be very interested in a pair of binoculars. Dill would like a pair of binoculars because it would make his job of hunting down Boo Radley a lot easier.  Instead of going up to the Radley house and trying to look through the windows, he could just stand across the street and look into the windows with his binoculars. This would not be as risky and he would probably have a better chance of seeing Boo.

Lillypad's insight:

The poem "I carry your heart with me" by E.E. Cummings is about always having the person you love on your mind. This relates to Dill because he is ''in love'' with Scout. He always thinks about her and he thinks that they are going to get married one day. He always wants to be around her and he truely cares about her and her opinions.

Bon Jovi - Runaway [ Lyrics on screen ]

Like, enjoy and subscribe for more videos I DO NOT OWN THE COPYRIGHTS OF THIS SONG Ignore : Eric Clapton Bob Dylan Layla Knocking on Heaven's Door Europe Roc...
Lillypad's insight:

The song "Runaway" by Bon Jovi relates to Dill because it talks about being ignored and being around people who don't understand you or your ideas. Its also about just being pushed aside because no one is willing to take the time to get to know you or to figure out how you think. At home Dill has two very kind parents but they don't really care about him. They give him hugs and tell him that they love him but he knows that they don't really care that much about him. They buy him lots of toys and books. The only reason they buy him whatever he wants is because if he has lots of things to play with he will have less time to bother his parents. This is his parents way of making sure he stays out of their business. Dill's parents feed him, tuck him in at night, hug and kiss him, just like normal parents, but they don't like his company and they don't take much interest in Dill so he decides to steal money from his parents and run away to Maycomb. There is a line in the song that says, "All your life you've wondered when your daddy is gonna talk to you.'' This line relates to Dill because his parents don't like to talk to him or interact with him at all. This eventually leads to Dill running away.
