OneNote now on Mac, free everywhere, and service powered | Office Blogs | Digital Workflow | Scoop.it

When we started OneNote we set out to revolutionize the way people capture, annotate, and recall all the ideas, thoughts, snippets and plans in their life. As many of you have attested, OneNote is the ultimate extension for your brain, but it’s not complete if it’s not instantly available everywhere. We’ve already made a lot of progress in that direction with our mobile, tablet and online web experiences. But there was still a gap. People frequently asked us for OneNote on Mac, and for more ways to capture content.

OneNote has been the best thing ever for me! I've been using it to curate links, articles and text from the internet or my pc files, and then reorganise and produce new doc to work on by incorporating my notes and remixing them.  I don't even have to think about how to convert pdf files any more. I just take a clip from them and use the 'copy text from picture' button. Helped me organise some of the mess. God sent gift!!!

Am keen to try it out. It could be the answer to my prayers

Many of the students use OneNote on their iPads, so this may be a valuable tool for staff to learn about, as well.  It is now available as a free Mac program.

Digital Workflow
I am fascinated at the personalized learning potential of the digital workflow. Interested in mashups of apps / the act of scholarly work in the digital era / how the brain organizes info in this mobile, digital world to create new ideas, test and share/publish them

Google Docs: Which Workflow Works for You? | Digital Workflow | Scoop.it
On Twitter this week I was asked how I manage Google docs with so many students. I realized there are several different answers to this question. I wanted to share a few different workflow options for managing Google documents when you go paperless with your students. #1 Students Create & Share

Convert PDFs to Kindle Format

Convert PDFs to Kindle Format | Digital Workflow | Scoop.it

PDF4Kindle is a neat little free service that will convert PDFs into .mobi format for reading on Kindle devices. To use the service all that you need to do is upload a PDF and let PDF4Kindle do the rest. When the conversion is complete you can download the .mobi file. The converted file will let you resize text as you would with any other Kindle document.

Developing Your Digital Study Skills

Developing Your Digital Study Skills | Digital Workflow | Scoop.it

Making the move from our safe and trusted traditional literacy habits to newer digital skills can be quite a challenge, but as teachers I think we are really unlikely to be able to use technology and help our students use technology really effectively unless we are prepared to face this challenge. Technology needs to be more than part of the way we teach but it also has to be part of the way we ourselves continue to learn and part of our everyday professional practice.

How interactive technology is transforming storytelling - The Guardian

How interactive technology is transforming storytelling - The Guardian | Digital Workflow | Scoop.it

Let me begin by saying: reports of the death of the book are wildly exaggerated. Likewise traditional storytelling. Human beings have been telling stories around campfires since the first cavewoman struck a flint against another flint and noticed that an interesting spark flew off. Stories aren't going anywhere and nor is the visceral, inexplicable, bone-deep shivery delight of a good tale well told.

What happens, however, is that new technologies give creative people new ideas. Art and science (or technology) are often imagined to be totally separate – but this is not, and never has been, true. Art is affected by the technology of art, because artists love to experiment, and every new development is a new tool

6 Steps to Add Voice Comments to Google Docs ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

6 Steps to Add Voice Comments to Google Docs ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Digital Workflow | Scoop.it

"With this new application in Google Docs ( Drive ), teachers can now record their audio comments and share them with their students. I see this as a better way to give feedback on students' work and I do believe there are things we can express with our voice that no written code could ever capture like the tone and intonation..etc."

This is AWESOME!!  Teachers will LOVE having the ability to add audio comments.

Becky Roehrs's curator insight, May 20, 2013 10:17 AM

Update/Tip: I tried it out-if you have to change your original document-just copy it and add voice to it-121 Writing doesn't sync with your Google Docs updates.

Instructors are always looking for ways to add audio feedback-I'd much prefer adding voice messages to my student's Google Docs then just text like I have in the past.

Ness Crouch's curator insight, May 25, 2013 3:14 PM

Excellent! I'm adding this app!
