As 2013 draws to a close, Daniel Ghinn has put together a list of his top-ten favourite pharma social media 'firsts' of the year - new things that pharmaceutical companies have been doing in social media.

It's been a year packed with new ideas, channels, and lessons learned.

The combination of Instagram's native-style of flowing through a stream where users see photos one at a time as they scroll through and that fact that Instagram announcing in March that it now has 200 million monthly users, up from the 150 million it reported six months ago.    This combination is probably why Instagram can charge some businesses  month-long campaign buy costing $500,000 or north.

The article "The 6 Step Social Media Marketing Strategy Plan for Your Business" is a quick article addressing six steps to a social media plan for businesses. The first step of the plan is to identify a social media manager. The second step is to create branded pages. The third step is to develop a planning calendar. The fourth step is to create engaging content. The fifth step is to monitor responses and track results. And the last step is to use results to better understand consumer behavior and reaction to your products/services. The article is wrapped up discussing how if you approach social media like any other form of marketing and development plan, it can become a very useful and effective tool that compliments traditional marketing strategies. 

 

I found this article to be a good read. There were a few typos which shouldn't have been there, but overall the message was effective. It can be very useful information for businesses trying to incorporate a social media marketing strategy plan.

This article discusses a social media marketing strategy plan for a business. This strategy uses six steps. The first step is to find a social media manager. It is important to have someone in charge of monitoring the platforms and posting content. The second step is to create branded pages. Once the company decides which sites they want to use, it should then create the sites and make sure they all have the same look and feel as the company’s website. The third step is to develop a planning calendar. This will outline the number of posts, time of the posts, and the content in each post. The fourth step is to generate engaging content. The content should include something followers would be willing to share. The fifth step is to monitor responses and track results. There are many outside companies that use social media analytic programs that record feedback. The last step is to use results to understand consumer behavior and reaction to your business. This can help to identify strengths and weaknesses of a company.

            Social media use is continuing to increase at a rapid rate. It is important that companies create a strategy so that their company does not go under. This article gives a list of ways a company could successfully create this strategy. The better the strategy, the better the company will do.
