"I approached the iEARN-PK team, with my vision. They have been exceptionally helpful in supporting my initiative, they leveraged the YES Alumni funds and have helped me established a Community Learning Centre at my house equipped with two computers with the internet and all the necessary course material for English language classes and adult female literacy classes. My husband, an employee in navy on a small post has played a phenomenal role in helping me realize my dreams and goals and my two children were the greatest motivation for me to bring a change in the community."

For a long time now I have been looking for a tool that enables instant polling in the classroom or in the lecture room. I specifically wanted something that; doesn't require registration (especially from the people I'm polling), updates very quickly, works on any platform from computers to mobile devices.
It looks like I have finally found what I've been looking for and best of all it's free. The tool that I have found is Mentimeter and it does all of the above.
Undergraduates and grad students alike will appreciate the usefulness of these search engines that allow them to find books, journal articles and even primary source material for whatever kind of research they're working …...

"The Networked Student was inspired by CCK08, a Connectivism course offered by George Siemens and Stephen Downes during fall 2008. It depicts an actual project completed by Wendy Drexler's high school students. The Networked Student concept map was inspired by Alec Couros' Networked Teacher. I hope that teachers will use it to help their colleagues, parents, and students understand networked learning in the 21st century.
Anyone is free to use this video for educational purposes. You may download, translate, or use as part of another presentation. Please share."
This is a great illustration of applied problem based learning using the network!
Students at Miami Country Day School in Miami Shores set the first Guinness world record for the most cookies baked in one hour using solar ovens. On April 20 — two days before Earth Day — middle and high school students at the school gathered outside to start frantically making the cookie dough from scratch, placing them on racks and into the 40 different solar ovens.
Cohen’s interest in solar cooking started in fourth grade. He was involved in an organization called YouthCaN, a global youth-run organization that uses technology to educate people about environmental problems. During his time in YouthCaN, Cohen gave demonstrations on solar cooking.
