Karen Dietz's curator insight, July 15, 2013 10:21 PM

This article is a review of a recently published book that I think gives solid advice.

For years I've advocated with clients to forget networking and focus instead on evoking stories from those they meet about their business, and then share the story about your business in return.

That way you are actually having a conversation instead of broadcasting a message. And you are establishing a relationship -- the basis of all sales and strategic partnerships.

This book -- written as a story -- not only advocates for this same idea, but the author of the article, Ivana Taylor, shares lessons from the book in the post. Like: why you connect is more important than what you want form the connection; and notions about which connections convert better.

I know you will like the insights shared here and get better results when networking!

PS -- I have no association with the author of the book.
