This article from the US Cable News Network will provide financial statistics for my presentation to demonstrate why digital downloading of music is great for consumers but a major threat to the viability of the music industry.

This article talks about iTunes and the effect it has on physical music sales, like CDs. iTunes led the change to single downloading. They are responsible for 63% of digital music sales. However, the artists still have to rely on other endeavors, such as endorsements, touring, and merchandise. I think iTunes is a little better than streaming services like Spotify. With iTunes you either pay for the single or the album, but with Spotify its one monthly price for any song or album.
