"In Vogue's latest push to embrace the digital age, the fashion bible has broken ahead of the pack as the first print magazine to make its Instagram feed shoppable. It's doing so through LiketoKnow:It, an offshoot of the affiliate sales platform RewardStyle.

With LiketoKnow:It, if you "like" an Instagram with an LTK link in the caption, you will be sent an email that directs you to a point of sale for the item in the Instagram. If you buy that item, Vogue receives a commission."

We've heard of fast food, fast fashion, and now, apparently, there's fast shopping. Comptoir des Cotonniers, the Paris-based and French-inspired casual retail chain (...) announced Wednesday that it has launched a new concept that allows shoppers to purchase an item in 20 seconds from 10,000 "locations" in France."

"In the world of dating apps and websites, Tinder has proven to be something of a breakaway success. People download it for myriad reasons: Some are looking for love, others a casual hookup or an ego boost. Some just feel like playing "Hot or Not" with their friends at the bar. Whatever the reason, it's working. The app cleared 10 million matches per day in February.

So it shouldn't come as any surprise that other startups have imitated Tinder's super-simple user interface, which involves swiping an image card left for no and right for yes. Among them are a number of fashion-focused apps that aggregate clothing from multiple e-commerce sites and allow users to window shop their way through dozens of items in one sitting. Swipe left to dismiss a dress, right to save it to a wish list."

"Vogue has long held a reputation in the publishing world for being among the best and most influential brands in print, and now it's looking to make a similar name for itself online.

WWD reported Tuesday that Vogue is looking to expand its web presence in a big way in the coming months, and the Condé Nast glossy is in the process of building its online team to a total of 20-25 staffers. A rep for Vogue declined to comment on the report, but the industry has been buzzing about the Vogue.com overhaul for months. 

The site -- which has been beefing up its online content with web-only features like Lauren Santo Domingo's jealousy-inducing "APT with LSD" -- plans to staff up every vertical (beauty, fashion and culture) separately just like in the magazine, with a director and full staff. Each section has the goal of producing up to 10 stories a day, a source tells us."

It's official. After seven years at Elle, Joe Zee is moving to digital.

Following lots of speculation, Yahoo confirmed Monday morning that it has indeed poached Joe Zee from Elle to head up a new digital fashion magazine.

His role is a large one. According to the media company, the former Elle creative director has been named editor in chief and executive creative officer of Yahoo Fashion, as well as editor at large for Yahoo Beauty, which is being led by Bobbi Brown.

As such, he'll lead vision, creative direction and development of the new site, contributing new video series, original programming and special events. He'll also contribute regularly to Yahoo's beauty coverage.

"While Carven has been on social media for a while, you can expect more of a presence on Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook going forward, all in a clever, playful voice. "Carven is now a global brand and needs a stronger social media presence," Henry explained thusly via email.

And to get fans acquainted with this voice, Carven has released a short film (above) in the style of Jean-Luc Godard. "Godard was very fresh and had a very French taste, and that’s what we do at Carven," said Henry.

Carven may not be the first fashion brand to take inspiration from Godard -- but the film does feel totally true to the brand's DNA, and it's probably a smart way to gain social media followers. (But, you know, only the cool ones.)"

Meet the companies creating fashion videos that actually sell.

In the past month, Nowness.com -- an editorial website owned by LVMH -- has launched two shoppable videos. The first, March's "Mine All Mine," depicts Sadler Wells dancers performing in spring looks from brands including Rick Owens, Haider Ackermann and Kenzo. The most recent, released Wednesday, features Petit Bateau's collaboration with Finnish designer Satu Maaranen, showcasing the 2013 Hyères Festival winner's design process. (Watch it here.) While the two videos couldn't be more different in terms of content, they offer the same experience. You can click (or tap, if you're using a touchscreen) on any item in the film and it will be saved to a "boutique". By clicking on a small "Q" icon at the bottom right-hand corner, you can browse your picks.

"Flipping through the pages of a fashion magazine is a great way to get ideas about what to buy each season, especially since you know the goods inside are hand-picked by a team of editors with highly developed tastes. It seems only natural then that these publications are beginning to not only feature products they love within their pages, they're also branching out into developing -- and in some cases, selling -- the items themselves. (...) Real Simple isn't the first print brand to get involved in both e-commerce and design. Harper's Bazaar not only has its stand-alone shopping site, ShopBazaar.com -- one the very first content-to-commerce stores from a print brand -- it also recently partnered with Stuart Weitzman on a capsule collection designed by the magazine's accessories and market editors."

For those who aren’t familiar, The Hunt is essentially a community-based shopping app, through which users can post “hunts” for items they’re looking to find (often accompanied with a photo pulled from a magazine or online); other users then jump in and help them find either the exact item or a similar look. Chronic online shoppers tend to excel at this kind of work. 

With more startups looking to get in on the fashion discovery game, the crowdsourced shopping service The Hunt has taken a big step forward, in the form of a $10 million venture capital raise from Khosla Ventures. The Hunt has changed a lot since it released its iOS app, shifting from a desktop experience to one that is overwhelmingly (read: 95 percent) mobile. With this latest infusion of cash, the startup is getting ready to release its first Android app and working on making the experience more addictive than it already is.
