Unraveling the Mysteries of Mobile Marketing

Unraveling the Mysteries of Mobile Marketing | Digital Marketing and PR | Scoop.it

Mobile consumers exercise tremendous where-and-when control over their buying decisions. Marketers must be at the ready to respond to these savvy consumers' mobile interactions. Powering marketers' overtures are fresh mobile-marketing technologies and software, but that doesn't mean mobile marketing is as easy as a swipe and a tap.

Marketers are still grappling with new strategies for the m-commerce landscape. Although the essential components of successful cross-channel marketing strategies haven't changed, today's digital marketers now have to blend these more exacting mobile approaches into the mix.

Direct Marketing News Editor-in-Chief Ginger Conlon and Chuck Moxley, CMO of mobile technology company 4INFO, co-hosted an editorial roundtable on mobile's best and most challenging aspects for marketers. Highlights of the conversation included mobile attribution and targeting; how to connect agencies' and brands' differing perspectives regarding what data to collect and measure; how to integrate mobile into the multichannel mix; and what role mobile should play in marketers' media spend. —Alison Lowander...

The Ultimate Guide to a Perfect LinkedIn Profile

The Ultimate Guide to a Perfect LinkedIn Profile | Digital Marketing and PR | Scoop.it

I have to be honest here, setting up and optimizing a LinkedIn profile takes time. This is not going to be a "Clean Up Your LinkedIn Profile In 5 Minutes" kind of post. So while it will only take a few minutes for you and I to run through these suggestions, be prepared to spend a considerably greater amount of time actually implementing some of them. Fortunately, once done, you can relax, have a glass of wine, and just pop back into your profile every few weeks or months to make a couple updates.

Before we jump into these recommendations, let me make one more point perfectly clear. These are not necessarily recommendations for the perfect LinkedIn profile if you're looking for a job. I am writing this from my own perspective, as someone who is using their LinkedIn profile to connect with influencers, partners or prospects. I already have a business and I am counting on LinkedIn to help me grow that business and reach more of their nearly 200 million active monthly users....

Why PR Firms Are Dead to Me - Grant Cardone TV

Why PR Firms Are Dead to Me - Grant Cardone TV | Digital Marketing and PR | Scoop.it

Is hiring a public relations firm even worth it in a world that changes so quickly? Has the whole game of a public relations firm become obsolete because of 800 TV channels, thousands of satellite radio channels, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Medium, Meerkat, Periscope, blogging, Blabbing and all of the other social media platforms? Can a firm even grab the attention of television, radio or newspaper producers long enough to pay attention to their pitch?

I’m writing this after giving three different firms a year each to produce results. They promised results, I expected results — neither result was delivered. And each relationship started the same way; we met at my home or out for lunch to get to know one another. I told them my story, they asked who I wanted to reach — they got excited, I signed a contract and then I pumped them with massive amounts of relevant content that they could pitch to producers....

The Beginner’s Guide to Technical SEO

The Beginner’s Guide to Technical SEO | Digital Marketing and PR | Scoop.it

Neil Patel: 'Technical SEO just refers to any SEO work that is done aside from the content.Essentially, it’s laying a strong foundation to give your content the best chance it can have to rank for relevant keywords and phrases.

Just like they have for on-page SEO, technical aspects of SEO have changed as search engines have become more sophisticated.

While there isn’t much you can do to “game” search engines from a technical standpoint, there are some new factors in 2015 that you need to consider if you want to improve your or your clients’ rankings.

If I were to cover this subject in depth, I would have to create another advanced guide.

Instead, I’ll go over the most important aspects of technical SEO from a beginner’s perspective as well as give you a few specific tactics and next steps to fix common problems in each area'.

4 Google Tools That Will Boost Your #PR - SEMrush

4 Google Tools That Will Boost Your #PR - SEMrush | Digital Marketing and PR | Scoop.it

There’s been a lot of talk about how traditional public relations can help boost your SEO.SEO and PR go hand in hand. I’m really lucky to work with several PR professionals in my current position, and they all agree that SEO best practice is essential if your story is going to connect with its audience.

While still distinct disciplines, SEO and PR are now joined at the hip, and professionals on both sides can no longer remain ignorant of each other’s worlds. An SEO who is armed with top tier PR training can have intelligent conversations with clients in regards to branding and PR goals, and an expert public relations professional can optimize press releases, understand on-page elements and use tools beyond social media to make sure that their client’s needs are best served.

So, here are some tools that I use in my own efforts as in performing my outreach role:...
