Longform Overload Redux

The problem is that long doesn’t mean good — it just doesn’t look like most of the junk.
Intriguing Networks's insight:

This is a piece from Om Malik but it got me thinking as to whether longform or shortform are enahanced when direct access to the data is enabled on something like the Guardian Data Blog or a Digital Humanities Project? Are Snippets better than a monologue? whether for business,r esearch ad or public access what works best for business or research, 12,00 words, 1000 words or 500 or a combination thereof with direct and iteractive access to the related data?

Despite the fact that research plays such a pivotal role in the practice of user-centered design, much has been written about how to approach it in a “quick and dirty” manner. Why the rush? I believe that the application of a more rigorous, scientific methodology could lend some much-needed credibility to our approach.
