Una vez más vemos cómo el marketing online hace presencia dentro de una de las redes más vistas y visitadas diariamente a nivel mundial, Youtube, quien ha podido atraer a retailers de la moda a que formen parte de esta tecnología digital, en donde tan solo en el año 2012 pudimos encontrar que el 90% de las marcas de moda mantinen un canal dentro de Youtube a través del cual anuncian sus productos a los miles de millones de usuarios que a diario visitan Youtube, pero no todo es color de rosa ya que estos videos de moda están afectando las ventas ya que un -40% de los consumidores ha visitado una tienda o sitio web minorista después de haber visto este tipo de videos mientras que solo el 34% se ha animado a realizar alguna compra después de ver un anuncio publicitario en la web, es por ello que a través de las anotaciones externas de YouTube en su versión beta ahora es posible que las marcas integren sus videos con el comercio electrónico dando paso a una plataforma menos "intrusiva" para los usuarios y fácil de utilizar. 

Un ejemplo de esto es la marca Juicy Couture quien a través de sus anuncios online juega para mostrar el nombre y enlace del producto, llevando a los usuarios al enlace de un producto específico en su sitio web oficial.

De acuerdo con este artículo, el comercio minorista entre los consumidores en línea está aumentando un 20% por año mientras que el consumo físico solo alcanza el 3% según los datos proporcionados por el censo en Estados Unidos, por lo que en los próximos 4 años el 90% de las ventas al por menor todavía se podrán llevar a cabo alrededor de las tiendas físicas.

Por otro lado, también hay que destacar que actualmente los minoristas estan utilizando los medios digitales con la finalidad de mantener la relevancia de las marcas y así el retail conectado digitalmente mejora la experiencia de los consumidores en la tienda permitiendo que este interactúe con lo virtual y lo físico al mismo tiempo que se cumple con la finalidad de que este tipo de estrategias deben d conectarse con el medio ambiente, los productos, clientes y asociados.
