Les acteurs de l’ad tech et les marketeurs commencent à réaliser l’importance du marketing digital in-store et surtout du lien qu’il est nécessaire de faire entre le magasin physique et les applications et sites mobiles, un maillon encore faible de la chaîne malgré son importance. Un exemple très récent de cette prise de conscience est le partenariat que la plateforme de publicité programmatique SiteScout vient de signer avec AisleLabs, un spécialiste du retargeting in-store. Le retargeting in-store est une façon un peu grossière d’appeler le retargeting qui permet aux annonceurs de communiquer avec leurs clients et prospects pendant et après qu’ils soient passés dans le magasin. L’outil Aislelabs Engage permet d’analyser à la fois le comportement des consommateurs dans le magasin physique et au sein des sites et applications en ligne. When earlier this year Facebook purchased the messaging service app WhatsApp for USD $19 billion, some questioned the price Mark Zuckerberg was willing to pay, though few questioned the wisdom of the direction being travelled. The acquisition of WhatsApp, its advertisement-free policy and 500 million users, marked the first in a series of announcements over the course of the year that left analysts with no doubt that Facebook was gearing up to make a play into the payments space. In April, the Financial Times reported that Facebook had made an application to the Central Bank of Ireland to operate as an e-money issuer; in June Facebook broke the news that David Marcus, the man credited with reinvigorating PayPal over the past few years, was joining them to head up its Facebook Messenger division; and finally just a few weeks ago, in his first earnings call of the year, Mark Zuckerberg admitted that Facebook was incorporating payments into its plans for the future, and the two would eventually “overlap“.

A third of British employees admit to shopping online when they are at work, according to new research.

Charitable price comparison website Give as you Live found that those workers who shop online from work, spend an average 24 minutes in every working day browsing online shopping sites, with 11am on Monday the most popular time to buy.

There’s a cost to this behaviour, the study found, since it costs business 96 hours a year in lost time per employee.

At the same time, shoppers spend £77.49 shopping online during the course of a 9am to 5pm shift. They’re most likely to be found on the Tesco website, while M&S and thetrainline were the second and third most-used website.
