Interesting  idea,  could use as a class project too!

Dr. Pamela Rutledge's curator insight, January 9, 2014 2:31 PM

Is Memloom all that different from other digital storytelling tools?  I am hoping for a iPhone version where stories can be compiled on the fly, reflective of the chaos of real life.

corneja's curator insight, January 10, 2014 8:27 PM

Memloon seems an easy tool for building stories for our photos. Could it will be used by brands? Maybe, I guess.

10 Fun Music Videos to Explain Tricky Topics to Students

10 Fun Music Videos to Explain Tricky Topics to Students | Digital Content and Social Media | Scoop.it

"In every syllabus or curriculum there are a handful of difficult concepts, dry topics or complex processes that can be difficult for students to grasp, and even trickier for them to remember. Whether it’s a particularly complicated mathematical equation, a wordy poem or a tough scientific process, teachers have been coming up with clever methods and workarounds to help them stick in students’ brains for centuries."

Videos are a great way to hook students on a subject...add music and chances are good that students will listen and watch. Here are ten videos in range of areas. Three are described below.

* The Presidential Election Process - Learn about the "US presidential election, from primaries to inauguration day, including the importance of media coverage and fundraising!"

* Learn the Continents - Help younger students learn “about the different continents, understanding the basic geography behind them and recognizing them on the map.”

* Parts of the Cell Rap - An animated rap where "the relevant part of the cell lights up and moves to illustrate the song as it goes along."

Additional videos explore quadratic equations, MacBeth, creating a graph from an equation, states and capitals, the element song, and the life and works of Shakespeare.

Van Gogh's Shadow: Amazing animation of Van Gogh’s paintings suddenly filled with life | Digital Content and Social Media | Scoop.it

Luca Agnani, an Italian designer and animator, has taken the classic works of Vincent Van Gogh, and brought them to life. He's created a short film called Van Gogh's Shadow which shows over a dozen of Van Gogh’s paintings suddenly filled with life and movement, perhaps giving us an insight into how the artist may have seen the world he lived in.

Care and Feeding of Networks & 10 Must Follow Scoopiteers

Care and Feeding of Networks & 10 Must Follow Scoopiteers | Digital Content and Social Media | Scoop.it

This post was fun to write. I spent the morning writing about the importance of thinking digital first. This post shares 5 tips about the care and feeding of possibly your most important asset - your network of support, advocacy and content. If your content network isn't the most important thing no one really thinks about very often I don't know what is.

Since it isn't fair to tease such a list and not share, here is my list of 10 Must Follow Scoopers:

@Robin Good
@Guillaume Decugis
@Ally Greer
@ janlgordon
@Jesús Hernández
@Brian Yanish - MarketingHits.com
@Karen Dietz
@Thierry Saint-Paul
@Neil Ferree
@Ana Cristina Pratas

If you want to see what each of these great content curators has taught me you will need to read the post (since I'm not one to spoil a tease :).

Totally agree with Marty, each of these Scoopers uses Scoop.it to build their readership.  That's right they are using Other Peoples Content (OPC) that they curate to build their own following and traffic to their channels be it a website or social network.
