How Coke Spread Happiness (and Cokes) via Mobile & Social

How Coke Spread Happiness (and Cokes) via Mobile & Social | Digital case studies (brands) | Scoop.it

Love this one!

Using the mobile app, a consumer in New York could buy a Coke for someone in Buenos Aires. In addition, that consumer could watch a video using Google Maps and Street View to see the can traveling across the globe. After the recipient gets the Coke from one of the custom vending machines, the sender can watch a video of the person’s surprised reaction and perhaps get a thank-you note, if the recipient chooses to do so. Later, the sender can pass on the video to friends on Facebook, Twitter or Google+. The goal: Prompt real-life moments that underpin Coke’s current “Open Happiness” positioning.

Let's say you're a credit card company known for a certain level of class and distinction that's trying to promote a new Twitter tie-in, and you want to get the word out in a way that doesn't suck. What do you do? Bring in HOV!

American Express brought in JayZ long known for dropping references to the credit company and its uber-fancy “black cards” , to hold a concert here at the South by Southwest Interactive festival last year. The product being promoted was American Express’ new Sync service, which allows cardholders to link their cards to their Twitter accounts and earn discounts for sending tweets with particular hashtags.

The First Real Pinterest Marketing Campaign

The First Real Pinterest Marketing Campaign | Digital case studies (brands) | Scoop.it

Kotex identified 50 women, who were active on Pinterest. They researched what they pinned, how they expressed themselves, and then sent them a box of gifts that was customized to their taste.

It was essentially a creative influencer outreach campaign, that used Pinterest as its launch pad.

Clearly, Kotex targets women as their customers. Pinterest makes a lot of sense for this campaign, since it holds such a high percentage of women users, and has so much growing media and user attention, right now.

Kotex used repins to opt-in the Pinterest users for the campaign. And, the women who received the gifts posted about them on Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

They sent out 50 total gift boxes, and saw over 2,000 interactions that created close to 695,000 impressions.

If Your Candidate Loses, JetBlue Will Fly You From the U.S. | Creativity Pick of the Day - Advertising Age

If Your Candidate Loses, JetBlue Will Fly You From the U.S. | Creativity Pick of the Day - Advertising Age | Digital case studies (brands) | Scoop.it

This idea was brillz.

Visit the site, select your Presidential choice, and enter for a chance to win a ticket to one of the airline's 21 destinations. The site also has a real-time map showing where Americans want to escape to, and after the election results are in, 1,006 tickets will be given away. The brand is also out canvassing to encourage people to get out and vote.

Of course, the point is to get customers to go out and vote -- but we have to wonder, how many people are going to vote for the "other guy" just for the free flight?

Mattel (Barbie & Ken) make a magical connection through integrated marketing efforts

Mattel (Barbie & Ken) make a magical connection through integrated marketing efforts | Digital case studies (brands) | Scoop.it

On oldie- but goodie.....Mattel's social campaign to launch their new “Sweet Talkin’ Ken” doll for Ken’s 50th anniversary. (At last, a man who says everything you want him to say!) They went ALL OUT. So far out, that yes, I am dedicated an entire blog post to this integration effort that makes me drool with anticipation that one day marketers may use this as a case study to answer “What does a well-integrated marketing campaign look like?”
