...Did you know that color accounts for 85% of the reason why you purchased a specific product? Or that full-colored ads in magazines are recognized 26% more than black and white ads?
The psychological elements go even deeper when you look at the specific meanings of colors. For example, if you use the color blue on your products, it will give your customers a calming effect…while black, on the other hand, gives your customers a sense of exclusivity.
So, the real question that comes to mind is: how should you use color within your marketing?...
The social web has made us all publishers and marketers and the importance of content has exploded for marketing. Visual content marketing is the hot trend.

A friend sent out an email blast (I hate that word, for good reason) to his ample address book to promote a new project and got a lot of blowback for it. He asked me for my feedback... Just because... Seth's nails some key reminders here useful list if you want to build one
Insightful review attached and a powerful watch, a pretty candid encounter with the man behind the brain inspiring, difficult, moving and humbling. As near as most of us will get to knowing the man. If I could dream of 10 great people throughout history to spend some time with then Dr Hawking would be there for me with Einstein , Da Vinci and Shakespeare how Intriguing. Dream on I know.

Intriguing Networks's insight:
The shift in how Machine Learning can help you and your business profession or field of knowledge. Think it was the Leibnitz the Mathematician who paraphrased said 'computers should do the tasks that can safely be relegated to machines. But will the human psyche ever trust the musings of an algorithm?
I have written about creating “category-of-one” brands before. Most brands spend their time trying to increase their share of existing markets. They pursue many different tactics to do so, from innovating new product functions and features and offering price promotions (which erodes brand equity) to improving product quality and creating value-added services. Some even create highly entertaining ads hoping this will help them break through the category messaging clutter. The problem with these approaches is that they are incremental and most of them can be very easily matched by the competition.
Brand managers know how difficult it can be to create brand differentiation within an existing category. In mature markets, every market position has already been taken. True breakthroughs come only from creating entirely new categories, highly compelling new categories.
They say the umbers never lie, but that depends on the source? Some interesting age segmented stats that don't show Facebook as down and out for the teens, but it is changing.
Never uderestimate Instagram but how will you use it to to convert. interesting trnds and changes f0r 2014. It;s certainly true that there are no lamost as many middle-aged people on FAcebook as there are teens. Some of that is success, how much do teens buy short term?
But the numbers do not revela who buys ora market/country by country analysis, thats when the free lunch stops with Global Web Index. But worthy of a ponder as you focus on where to put your social signals in 2014...
Thanks for this, most interested in the predictions about real people feature inncreasigly in content, it reads somewhat ironically doesn'tit with all the social interactions everyone is engaged upon?
I am pondering whether its more about authenticity that underpins the real people and events and havig something that actually connects emotionally as well as logically as more than a conversion click?
In the UK there has been a real swing in mainstream xmas advertising led by an upmarket Department store chain called John Lewis, the others have tried to copy but they have not done it as well. The Ad hardly mentions the brand or the product and the feature is a costly animation. Interesting to see such emotive content and everyone is talking about it around the Xmas campaigns. Guess its a bit resonant with the Apple Think Different Ads. So how Companies trnslate that into streams of online content that fit the overall Brand Strategy is going to be interesting...
Theres a post about Facebook's Compassion and Content Strategy Teams and how they are researching and refining dealing with annoying content, may seem off-track but in terms of the future of Content Marketing understanding how not to endup with users tuning out may well be key? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/12/16/facebook-compassion_n_4441716.html strikes me that in business content we will face similar and significant challenges in the battle against the white noise even more so now Facebook say theya re carefully rolling out auto play video ads the bane of most users and the price they pay for a free platform...

On the basis that the numbers do not lie with the preoccupation with Social Nets we can all take our eyes off the importance of a good list and how many people despite apparnet protestation like to read a good digest and newsletter or conversion mail.
An art form as well as a science, as said above - Now accessible to all with the likes of Mailchimp providing such excellent and relatively easy ways to test and develop for any organisation large or small.
Don't forget the crafting of the forms too, there are whole books on form design but I think I noticed a good post on forms too so will pass that along in due course.
