Plan - So you're ready to make a video for your organization. If you're planning to upload it to YouTube, remember to make it no more than ten minutes long.

Do Men Use Facebook Differently Than Women?

Do Men Use Facebook Differently Than Women? | Digital Brand Marketing | Scoop.it

Facebook is all about connecting with others. Your connections are called “friends” whether you actually know them in real life or not. Men and women both friend others on the network, but they’re very different in how they do it.

Social media has become ubiquitous. It seems like everyone has a Facebook or Twitter account these days. It’s actually more common to hear some say, “Message me on Facebook,” than it is to hear them say, “call me” or “email me”. Social networks have become our online homes where we interact and communicate with friends and family, as well as with businesses that we patronize.

It’s a social world out there, but there are some striking differences between how different people use those social networks, particularly when comparing the different ways that men and women use Facebook...

Building Trust Is the Key to Success in Digital Marketing

Building Trust Is the Key to Success in Digital Marketing | Digital Brand Marketing | Scoop.it
The #1 thing every digital business competes for is - Trust. Trust seems quite attainable but in fact a lot more difficult to harness than you imagine

I selected this article from Curatti written by Ivan Temelkov because it addresses the important issue of building trust with your community.

Trust is the largest factor in building relationships in business.

Create An Authentic and Real Relationship With Your Customers

In the world of digital business it can be a challenge to build trust with your prospects. I agree that in order to truly engage your community you need to nurture relationships with them.

Temelkov points out that authenticity is one of the driving factors behind building a great business. It's important for your customers to know that they can rely on you as a go-to source for their needs.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Keep your promises and deliver on what is expected. If you're unreliable just once your customers may go elsewhere.

  • Be transparent and tell the truth. People want instant gratification, but if you can't meet their demand it's better to be honest.

  • Build lasting relationships with your customers. Think of them as a "significant other," and go the extra mile when necessary. This takes time and effort, but is well worth the process in the long term.

There is a lot out there on the neuroscience of storytelling. Here's another terrific article that share more about the topic. What I particularly like is the author's discussion of the future of storytelling based on our current addiction to screen time, and some of the opportunities virtual reality storytelling bring.

It's an interesting read. What do you think of the narrative future proposed?

influencer marketing and ROI | Marketing Tom Fishburne

influencer marketing and ROI | Marketing Tom Fishburne | Digital Brand Marketing | Scoop.it
Influencer marketing is all the rage, but there’s not a clear understanding of what constitutes influence.A few years ago, I participated in an influencer event for a consumer brand. It was an expensive affair put on by the brand’s agency. There were a few dozen “influencers” there, which, it turned out, meant a collection of people with blogs and social media followings. A photographer captured it all as a glitzy brand experience. Some people blogged or shared about the event, some didn’t, and it left me wondering about the return on that investment. From the photos that were posted, it looked like a beautiful bit of marketing. From the actual impact, not so much.Influencer is a designation with an almost magical glow to it. But not all influencers are created equal. Not everyone with a social media following is an influencer and not every influencer is a good fit for every brand. Brands should also be wary of those who refer to themselves as influencers. There’s a lot of snake oil in influencer marketing....
