Do Men Use Facebook Differently Than Women?

Do Men Use Facebook Differently Than Women? | Digital Brand Marketing | Scoop.it

Facebook is all about connecting with others. Your connections are called “friends” whether you actually know them in real life or not. Men and women both friend others on the network, but they’re very different in how they do it.

Social media has become ubiquitous. It seems like everyone has a Facebook or Twitter account these days. It’s actually more common to hear some say, “Message me on Facebook,” than it is to hear them say, “call me” or “email me”. Social networks have become our online homes where we interact and communicate with friends and family, as well as with businesses that we patronize.

It’s a social world out there, but there are some striking differences between how different people use those social networks, particularly when comparing the different ways that men and women use Facebook...

10 flaws that undermine your organization's Facebook page | Digital Brand Marketing | Scoop.it
Facebook offers great opportunities to attract, engage and convert would-be customers, but building a high-converting Facebook page has been elusive for many organizations.

It's important to know the elements of a successful Facebook page; it's even more crucial to recognize the reasons your Facebook page is failing.

If you want your ideal customers to "like" your page and follow you, you have to continually reward them with great content and build an engaged community. This means employing a content strategy that works for your business both culturally and operationally.

You also have to incorporate Facebook ads to promote your content, increase clicks to your website and turn fans into customers.

Study: What Motivates Facebook Users to Share Content

Study: What Motivates Facebook Users to Share Content | Digital Brand Marketing | Scoop.it

What motivates people to share content? This is one of the key questions all content marketers would love to understand more about. And while sharing, in itself, is rarely the end goal, shares do help spread the message and connect your content with a wider audience.

To get a better understanding of what motivates content shares, content strategy group Fractl has conducted a study of what motivates Facebook users, specifically, to share a post.

Fractl surveyed more than 2000 Facebook users to gain insight into what inspires them to click Like or Share on The Social Network. Among their key findings, Fractl's researchers found that:

- Only 1 out of 10 respondents noted that their primary reason for sharing content was to educate their network, though more than half (55%) noted they do want to share useful content

- Women are 26% more likely to share content more than once a day compared to men, while Baby Boomers are 19% more likely to share more than once per day than any other generation

- 40% of respondents admitted to sharing content to make themselves look good.

- Users with larger networks (over 500 friends) are 7% more likely to share content that maintains a certain image of themselves....
