#SocialMedia: The Importance of Being Social - #infographic

#SocialMedia: The Importance of Being Social - #infographic | Digital boards | Scoop.it
Social media is still a young platform when it comes to customer service. Both customers and companies are in the “figuring out” stage, where both parties are trying to understand how best to communicate with each other.

Therefore, it should come as no surprise that social media platforms have their own “rules of conduct” and “language”. Learning social media etiquette is an extremely important aspect of customer service on platforms like Twitter and Facebook. Equally as important is learning how to best manage your communications over various social media platforms.

With the right mixture of tools and a willingness to keep a tab on all conversations with customers, you can ensure that maneuvering your way around various social media channels and communicating with customers is as effective and efficient as possible.

Ryan Somlai's curator insight, December 10, 7:39 AM

This site gives statistical evidence as to why and how social media marketing can be beneficial. Claims that as social demand for social customer care grows, so do customer expectations. It goes on to give examples of successful social media customer service examples, and also states that 86% of people have used social media for customer service at least once.

Jeanine Askew's curator insight, December 10, 12:34 PM

Key Takeaway: Brands do have a place on social media.

Ads or messages from brands are viewed the most of Facebook and Twitter. In order for a brand to be successful on social media they need to learn proper etiquette and language to speak to consumers. Once a brand has established their presence on social media it is important to monitor their popularity on social media.

This actually what I want to do when I graduate. I want to create campaigns that involve social media and connect to consumers (people) on a real level.

Valuable tips on Facebook likes.

Alaina Es's curator insight, November 5, 2:33 PM

Most of my friends are obsessed with how many “likes” they get on a picture or post. A hundred to them is a success. However, likes to companies are not just numbers. They are the real users who are interested in the company’s brand, who expressed an interest in the company with one click. These likers have the potential to become customer or brand advocates. As a social marketer, their goal is to take that like and in return, engage them with high quality content that provides real value and increases their brand loyalty. After testing with their own money, the 5 most effective way to target users with Advertising to get more Facebook likes are as follows: 1) Targeting interests – create ads and target it to people that have interests related to your product or industry. 2) Targeting Interests intersection – Facebook released a new way to target only those users that have all the interests listed. 3) Customers’ custom audience – upload to Facebook the emails of all your existing customers that already know about your brand and target them with advertising to have them like your page. 4) Customers’ lookalike audience – this is the same as creating a custom audience out of your customers but now they can target Facebook Ads to people who are extremely similar to your customers. Lastly, 5) Facebook page lookalike – create audiences from a Facebook Conversion Pixel or from your Facebook Page’s fan which would be extremely useful if you don’t have many customers but already invested time in creating a lively community on Facebook.

Tim Blais's curator insight, September 29, 4:15 PM

Instagram is a popular form of social media that is reaching consumers by using a picture. The concept seems simple, but the ability for marketers to capture their audience with one simple picture is a skill that needs to be mastered. The most active way to engage a business’s potential consumers on instagram is to run a photo competition. This empowers the consumer and gives them an ability to interact with a business, which helps establish and create loyalty for that business. This article discusses how to run a successful instagram photo contest and there are key concepts that marketers should be aware of to enhance their business via instagram. The key concepts include the ability to create a contest from the bottom up to help nurture certain results. The article discusses how if a business wants to increase their followers, they should create a simple contest with a simple hashtag and influence the users to use the hashtag for a chance to win a top prize, as well as an opportunity to win other small prizes. This will enhance a businesses follower base by simply giving the consumer the power and opportunity to win. The article writes, “A randomly selected winner signals to participants that by simply entering the contest, they have just as good of a chance of winning as anyone else, while multiple prizes encourage them to submit more often as they have a greater chance of being rewarded.” The article also discusses the importance of understanding that most users will be on a mobile device, so the contest should be capable of being done on a smartphone. The simpler the better. The article encourages the ability to offer equal and fair opportunities to win. The overall takeaway I have received from this article is to put yourself in the shoes of the consumer. What would it take for me to enter a contest on instagram? This simple question has many answers that all reflect back on the idea of keeping a contest simple, fair and fun.

The world of Brand Loyalty has changed and the numbers aren’t pretty

The world of Brand Loyalty has changed and the numbers aren’t pretty | Digital boards | Scoop.it
The World of Brand Loyalty Has Changed
Is there a more important metric for a brand’s effectiveness than loyalty? We define loyalty as simply ‘a strong feeling of support or allegiance’ and when applied to a brand that connection equates directly to increased purchase, longevity of commercial relationship and recommendations to others through ‘word of mouth’ and these days through ‘word of mouse’. But the world of loyalty for brands has changed. New consumer behavior is redefining what we view as ‘contemporary loyalty’. With more information, consumers have seized control and are more open to the wide choices in the marketplace, greatly reducing their level of loyalty to any particular brand. With research showing a huge 78% of Western Consumers are not loyal to any particular brand, the challenges and opportunities for marketing and brand managers have never been greater.

Ya se terminaron los tiempos en que los clientes tienen que comprar lo que las empresas venden ...... son tiempos de los clientes, en los quel seleccionan lo que mejor empata a sus necesidades entre una gran variedad de alternativas !

How to Increase Revenue Without Actually Selling

How to Increase Revenue Without Actually Selling | Digital boards | Scoop.it
For some reason, many companies believe that marketing ends once a prospect becomes a customer.  However, this should never be the case.  If you think about it, marketing to potential customers is a series of actions that a company performs to gain the customers' trust and show them the value of the company.  So, why on earth would you stop doing this after they’ve given you their business?

Duplication is what is going to make you a leader in your industry.

Alaina Es's curator insight, September 30, 10:58 AM

One of the most important things I learned in my introduction to personal selling class was that you can’t neglect a relationship once the prospect becomes a customer. This was the older, traditional method of selling. Now, customers value trust and you can’t provide trust if you’re negligent to the customers’ needs after you get their business. The author portrayed the traditional sales “funnel” in a new light to help sales and marketing reps accomplish the now new and improved inverted funnel. There are a lot of leads coming into the top and a smaller number dripping out of the bottom. From that point the customers just get thrown in a CRM system but this is not the right way to go if you’re dollars remain on the line. If you turn your clients into fans and then eventually brand evangelists, this funnel can actually generate more revenue and of a higher quality. By offering value through content, for example, through e-books, webinars, and social chats, customers will trust you more and look to you for all the answers to their problems. It takes more work to keep them but the returns in the long run are worth it.

The Science of Storytelling

The Science of Storytelling | Digital boards | Scoop.it

Many studies show us that our brains prefer storytelling to facts. When we read facts, only the language parts of our brains work to understand the meaning. When we read a story, the language parts of our brains and any other part of the brain that we would use if we were actually experiencing what we’re reading, light up.This means that it’s easier for us to remember stories than facts. Our brains can't make major distinctions between a story we’re reading about and something we are actually doing....
