Music Crossroads: Making a Difference Through Music in Southern Africa

Music Crossroads International is a non-profit organisation using the power of music education, professional training, live performances and promotion of young talents to support the development of the music sector and education in the culturally rich Southern African region. Along with help from Peace Corps volunteers in the country, they organised a week of music workshops for kids in Malawi who had a passion for music but no way of developing their skills. This is a short film I made, documenting just one of these days.

Samsung names Wolfson as primary audio partner for Galaxy devices
Android Community
Samsung appears to have made a more formal commitment with Wolfson Microelectronics.
Elsa Escalante's insight:

Wolfson is a company who is concerned about getting the highest quality in audio, Samsung is characterized for making the best phones, especially with the Galaxy collection, now if we add this dedication for audio quality we have an amazing phone with amazing audio.

This agreement was described as being multi-year which really just goes to show that we will be seeing more as we move forward. Further talk from Hickey reveals this agreement to be what he refers to as a testament to their “strong IP portfolio” and growing partnership with Samsung.

However Samsung doesn't mention that Wolfson will be the exclusive audio partner.

Good thing: Explains why this decision was made
Bad thing: Doesn´t go any further

Good picks for audiobooks on your road trip this summer | USA Today

Good picks for audiobooks on your road trip this summer | USA Today | Digital Audio | Scoop.it

On a long road trip, the right audio offers a magic elixir of voice and story. It can mitigate irritation over snarled traffic, remedy boredom and, on occasion, lighten the mood if the atmosphere in the minivan resembles the Donner Party minutes before the knives came out.

Here is a sampling of great listens, whether you are traveling solo, paired, with pals, or hauling the whole tribe. If you have little ones, exert a bit of caution. My older son fondly recalls my desperate swerve to hit pause during a particularly inappropriate sex and drugs anecdote featured in Anthony Bourdain's splendid reading of his 2000 tell-all memoir, Kitchen Confidential (Random House Audio, $20). Very funny, but for big-boy ears only.

Brainwave Entrainment - A Scientific Overview Of Neuro-Programmer 3

Brainwave Entrainment - A Scientific Overview Of Neuro-Programmer 3 | Digital Audio | Scoop.it
Learn about Brainwave Entrainment, the brain's electrical response to rhythmic sensory stimulation, with links to additional research and information.

Via Mind2relax
Elsa Escalante's insight:

Brainwave Entrinment is amazing, you can choose how to feel, just through music!

When the brain is presented with a rhythmic stimulus, the rhythm is reproduced in the brain in the form of these electrical impulses. If the rhythm becomes fast and consistent enough, it can start to resemble the natural internal rhythms of the brain, called brainwaves. When this happens, the brain responds by synchronizing its own electric cycles to the same rhythm.

This means if you want to get sleepy, you only had to put a 4Hz sound pattern, and your body automatically adapts to this rythim/ sound, it aplies to every emotion or internal state :D

Good thing: It gives the basic information of this topic, with images and clear concepts

Bad thing: It doesn't go deeper
