What Are we Doing in Art Today?: Differentiation in the Art Room Tips

Kt DiBiase's insight:

In my art class I will often set up a one star (emerging), two star (proficient) and a three star (advanced) examples of what is expected in the artwork. Each example is generic enough for the student to build his/her creative thoughts. Most students will strive to obtain a level above his/her ability. If a student opts for a level below his/her ability, I will encourage  him/her to add more interest (line, shape, color, etc). If he/she stresses the product is finished, I will assign them a one or two paragraph describing the process or meaning of the arwork.
